I don't know where to start. How about stop adding new crap before fixing all the enormous issues that currently plague public play.
You can't build a good product with a ****** foundation, and that is exactly what D514 is.
MATCHMAKING Dust is the only shooter I've ever played where matchmaking is so obscenely lopsided. I rarely play matches where one team isn't annihilating the other by 20+ clones. Skirmish/Domination are by far the worst offenders. This should be the top priority.
DEATH TAXIS This should be a no-brainer. Restore their hitpoint stats to what they were previously, and possibly reduce the vehicle cap on maps. I simply don't play certain maps because they often result in LAV spam, and blueberries are smart (or accurate) enough to take them out. They're too fast for your average AV player to take out before they dip out of range/sight.
HUD INFO Grenades and Remote Explosives are the worst offenders. I've lost count how many times I've died to invisible grenades or explosives. They don't appear until they explode (if at all), and if they ARE there, they are blended into the rest of the blue/red clusterfuck of a UI.
Secondly is the Name Monster, where you can't easily identify a target in a group because of all the bloody name tags. This is not helped by the insanely blurry/dark player models that are blended into the maps.
The radar is still pretty useless. You can be shot by in the back @ point blank by heavies or whatever, and they will not appear on the radar. The hell is the point of a radar when it doesn't behave like a radar.
SPAWN BEACONS Severely limit them. They take way too much effort to kill (esp if they are even CLOSE to cover), and they make Domination & Skirmish modes extremely frustrating to play. Make them squad drops only or have a dedicated role or something, because right now they are totally out of hand. That doesn't even factor in the broken ones which are clipped into objects or ground and as a result, are indestructible.
Other than those key points, I think there has been much progress. The weapon balance is quite fair right now, other than explosives vs armor. Armor tanking also needs some work because shields are the best by a large margin.
C'mon CCP, I've been playing EVE for nearly a decade, and I know you're better than this crap |
