Explain to me: how do assault rifles take down my dropship's shields? It may be an armor dropship, but this just isn't right when some protobear AR does the same DPS to my dropship as a swarm launcher (observing that mlt/std 1 swarm volley downs my shields in the same time some assault rifles can). I was actually about to escape a forge gunner with a sliver of armor left when concentrated fire from infantry made the killfeed say I was shot down by a standard HMG.
May not have been noticeable before, but since ARs now have the same range as forge guns (I'm not kidding) it is. Dropships need to be impervious to non-explosive small arms fire, just like HAVs.
On a side note, afterburners on an assault dropship are insane. After a forge gun shoots me, I can just hit the afterburner, rocket to the (now ridiculously high) flight ceiling where nothing on the ground can reach me, and rep. Did I mention I can see the edge of the map from up there? The weird ditch where the map ends and the fake stuff begins isn't very subtle. |

its not silly for small arms to damage dropships. especially if your armor. scramblers and mini guns can do lots of damage even to my shield drop. |

To be honest, I was experimenting with blasters on a dropship.
And if you went 34-0, it means not a single red looked up the entire battle. |

they had a few swarms. I mostly stayed above the objective/ cru and let the kills roll in. proto blasters on that thing melt enemies. |

I specced into the *wrong* shield vehicle lol. BUT, shouldn't be much to spec into ADS right? I already have all my shield skills  I just don't want to learn how to fly the damn things first though... |

Let's see your shield booster save your dropship. When my dropship is burning, about to fall, or falling, I can just turn on my armor rep and regain control. |

Yup, happened to me yesterday, called in the DS and by the time the RDV had let go something hit it so hard that it had like 5 armor left, I thought it was gonna blow up but I took a chance and hopped in to activate armor repair. Took flight and it even out healed a LLAV that started shooting at me. I quickly went towards the sunrise to heal...
Then a redlining railtank 2 shot me.
