This may be old news, but I think CCP has quietly confirmed the future creation of a Laser weapon for Heavies!!
On this thread:

Look at the chart and you will see that under the header "Laser (medium-long range)" it lists "Heavy weapon -TBA"!!!
I think we have all been predicting this, but it's nice to see that it is officially planned for the future.

There are a number of weapons are included on that chart which have names, but are not yet in-game...I wonder if that means the new heavy weapons won't be showing up until after all of those. The heavy weapon slot really needs some variety, so I'm hoping they're just withholding the names for marketing purposes, and that we'll get at least one of them in the next couple of months. |

Of course it is confirmed. They already confirmed that all the weapon types will get racial variants across the spectrum. We just don't know when they will come. The "Confirmation" part in your title is misleading. Don't post that word unless you have a link to a solid release date with stats. Otherwise, it is speculation and could be over a year until we get it. |

Maybe... I am personally thinking that they will probably have a "heavy update" soon with the new suits and heavy weapons. After that they could have a "scout update" with the other scout suits and the cloaker device.
