Let me start by saying this, I am not a veteran pilot, I am just getting serious with my piloting skills. Now that that is out of the way, Dropship controls seem a little too cumbersome, and by that, I meant it handles as well as a palate of bricks with a jetpack strapped to it(If jetpacks were real, and could support palates of bricks of course). So, the dropship uses L1 to increase thrust and L2 to decrease thrust, R2 is used for Modules and R1 is for remote Modules, triangle does nothing if your the pilot(I think? I'm a little scared to test this), X closes the bay doors, and square does nothing.
My idea is to make use of triangle or square, by adding a "Flight Change" feature, the idea is simple, at the press of a button your DS can transfer from the hovering state we know of today, to a more speed focus mode, hover mode would be used for close to the ground situations, in hover mode it moves at a slower pace, with the same controls as the present build. As for the speed mode would mostly focus on forward movement, L1 and L2 would be disabled, which in turn would mean you'd have less vertical control, the idea of this is to give pilots more control over there DS, and speed is something we don't have much control over, I'm not sure if any would agree with me, but I think this would be a interesting way to help with DS controls.
That's my feedback, hope this helps in some. |

Yeah, that's part of the idea, "Hover Mode" would help with that, which would also help with picking up teammates and deploying them, it would even help with ground to air combat for Assault Dropships. |

Sunara Detra wrote:in my opinion what helped me when i first started but a few cheap militia dropships. Go somewhere barren were there is no one around. Use that area to practice using the controls for the airships. But landing does take some practice it took me a few times to get it right but once you get used to it you can be going full speed come to a complete stop and land without damaging your craft. When landing try to land somewhere flat so you can decrease your chances of hitting rocks or buldings. Some areas have landing pads you can use to practice.
Hope this helps.
It does, I don't think flying would be a an issue for me if there was a way to train my skills without potentially losing thousands of Isk, maybe a training room? A place you can train with no risk of bankruptcy. |

Sometimes hiding behind mountains or buildings decrease chances of getting shot/seen as well. now im even more carefull since i drive a Assault drop ship or a recon ship and they cost around 450 a ship so i only use them when i know iu have a good team.
Oh, geez, 450?! I'm going to have to get really good at flying before I'll even think of calling in one of those. |
