I would like to know if it is possible for CCP to set up a test server in this game. People say that PVE would be pointless because it would be repetitive and boring. But PVP is becoming very repetitive with people going to the same hills and sniping the same spot, tank in the red etc. This type of play does not help test the games full mechanics, weapons etc. The test servers would have the stats tracking removed, so people don't complain about there pointless K/D ratios. The servers then could be used to test certain things, like under user weapon types player count etc. You could test out 50 v 50 games, or have a game in which only lasers guns can be used. It could also be used to test enemy AI, because the AI will probably need a lot of work when PVE does finally come out. This would then give you a lot of technical feedback, and with the stat tracker removed it should hopefully make people get stuck into the battle more. |

I'd like to see a test server, however I'm not sure how they would be able to implement this on a console. |

It would have to be a second game client like you have to do when you want to use the EvE test server.
Wouldn't be that hard to do I guess, but it would require more updates and more patching. |

It's a logistical problem on CCP's and Sony's end but the desire by CCP to have one is certainly there. The hardware already exists mostly (Singularity, Duality, Multiplicity test servers and the like)
I mean we all know that version updates still cost money to deploy to our regular clients to deploy and host on the PSN store,
This will continue to apply to the Test Server client as well and its submission process will still filter through Sony still so it will hopefully not melt your PS3.
In the end it would be beneficial to you guys if it was cost effective means of doing so and its something Sony and CCP will have to negotiate over. |

With the PS4 having a lot more F2P games and MMOs on it. Sony will have to change the way thing currently work with this type of game. Whether or not those changers would apply current PS3 games, or just PS4 games is something we will have to wait and see. MMOs are not going to last long on next-gen if they have to pay for every little thing they do. Also sony have let CCP do monthly update, something they could not do before. So it looks like sony are open for change. |
