Definition
Forget fused locus grenades.
Aur only lets you purchase what is already on the market, it does not give you bonuses (unless that is the module you purchased.)
It does not give you the benefits of speccing into that item.
When I work, I trade my time for currency. When I Merc, I trade my time for currency.
Should I wish to spend 5.7M isk on 100 Prototype suits. It takes about 4 hours of my time to earn that isk, assuming no deaths.
If I make 7.5USD/Hr at a RL job, and trade 20USD of it for Aurum. I purchase 100 Proto-suits for 1.5 hours of my time.
Aurum, It is the better deal. |

From your source. You cannot buy better gear than Proto. You cannot make better gear than Proto. You can use skill boosters, but these do not counter the people that have skill. |

So the only AUR weapon that isn't yet effectively matched by an ISK weapon is the Fused Locus Grenade.
Oh wait, it is. Just use some skill and hold a normal grenade in your hand for some time. If you actually have skill, you can control when and where it detonates. |

I agree with the point OP is trying to make. Despite all my ctiticism of CCP in the past, they're doing an excellent job of not making this game pay-to-win, which is the one thing that's going to keep a lot of people around. |
