Hi everybody. IGÇÖm a casual gamer, who have very little time, and I need to use my free-gaming-time as effective as possible. This event from CCP is here to blind you bout the failure they have maid and keep you playing, spending money on boosters; and it work for the very most of you. The downside is that the SP gab between hardcore and casual become even bigger, and I would like to use this even to minimalize the gap grow (It will grow; I canGÇÖt do anything about it). I will never hit the limit auf the 700k+ SP which you could make in this one week, and I rather not spending money for a unfinished game, so thatGÇÖs why I start this (hopefully successfully) conversation. Maybe there are others like me who have, little time but would like to use it as effective as possible?
Please help me and others like me, by telling us how to grind SP as effective as possible.
IGÇÖm not a grinder, and I love being useful but this event leaves me no other choice. I rather play as a logi and support my Corp/squad, but hearing that people doing about 7k SP without boosters, I keep asking myself: how? |

I'm telling you now, DON'T play specific game modes just because they pay a little more SP.
Turning this game into a JOB will ruin it for you. You can say it won't happen, but with this kind of mentality, it will. |

Only time you aren't grinding the way everyone else does is when you aren't playing Since SP is partially based on time in game, WP earned, etc., Ambush sucks for grinding out SP tbh due to the increased percentage of time spent in warbarges and between battles. You want to be in battle as long as possible.

In this event I have 3 days to play. In these 3 days I will have about 2 till maximum 3 hours. I think I could survive this. That is the situation in which CCP is putting the casual gamer. They don't listen to suggsestions.

I can understand your feeling towards the situation, as you're finding it difficult to compete, but I don't understand what the actual issue is.
We have a 3xSP week. Your suggestions want it changed because it's inconvenient for you, that's why they're not listening.
This is like complaining about your neighbour owning a Ferrari because you can only get a Ford. Yes, you can't compete with the hardcore gamers, accept the lower tier and play the game as you normally do.
There is no way to get the full benefit of this x3SP week without being a 'hardcore' gamer.
In answer to your OP, long games of Skirmish pay well. |

Your SP reward is tied to how long you spent in the match and how much WP you got. LogiGÇÖs get lots of WPs. Skirmish gives you more SP as the match is longer but you can probably play more matches by doing ambushes. Up to you really.
But as stated here as well, you will also receive triple SP per match. If your normal SP payout is 6000, during the event you will get 18000. So it will take you the same amount of time to get to the cap as any other week.

I did a little update, it is still the same idea, but i try to explain it more clearly. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=87237&find=unread
It is not my intention to harm the hardcore. I use to be a hardcore gamer as well, and i really have the feeling that i would like this idea back then. But this is still offtopic.
The Topic is about farming SP as much as possible in a short time. |

a) A double/triple passive SP weekend - So why bother logging in or playling at all?
b) You just give us a amount for example 50000 SP. - See answer to a)
c) A weekend with multiplayer on active and passive sp. Like *1.1/*1.5 - How is that different to having a week of bonus SP?
d) And this is my most favorite way. Sadly it requests some work from your side. You will need to imply a new column in your oracle database tables ;). Static Bonus SP! How does it sound? Let me explain. At the end of every match, we get some SP somehow based on the WP we just earn, and we get the most SP from the Bonus SP which restore themselves every week. Now there will be another column, a static SP amount, which you gave us. This SP donGÇÖt refill after a time, only if you gave them to us. Like: GÇ£sorry for this extended down time, the cleaning woman somehow washed the serversGǪGÇ¥ If this SP value is depleted, well than thatGÇÖs it no more SP from this source. This way we still have to earn the "sorry/event" SP but they donGÇÖt GÇ£run away/time outGÇ¥ they can even stack. I would call them the real GÇ£bonus SPGÇ¥ and the other ones GÇ£weekly SPGÇ¥. If the active skillbooster should impact on the new and static bonus SP is for you to decide, but I guess no?
What am I reading here? ^ From what I can tell, you mean rollover SP? I believe we voted, as a community, for this option. No idea what's happening with it though.
Anyway, bridging the gap between hardcore & casual gamers, why? 'Hardcore' gamers play more, surely they should earn more. We already have a cap to limit their progress. |

I have found that domination generally has the best SP payouts as they appear to last longer than skirmish. I assume it is because there is only one null cannon instead of 3-5.
As others have said it is all about how long the battle lasts. This is because the rate you earn most of your SP is based on time in battle regardless of the type of battle you are in e.g. Ambush has lower payouts as they rarely last more than 7.5 minutes where as Skirmish and Domination generally last longer. Time spent in between battles I.e. in your quarters or on the warbarge in terms of SP is wasted time.
WP is part of the calculation in determining how much SP you get but only a small part. WP has a greater impact on how much Isk you earn though as the higher you are on the table the greater your portion of the Isk payout.
That is why domination and skirmish are your best bet for maximising your SP generation. |

Lot's of good info. But to the op, this game is not designed around tossing a disk into the console and keeping up. Sorry, this game does require time and tons of patience. I know plenty of players around 4mil sp that compete very well. My advice to sp collecting? Play as often as you can. I work full time and have a life but have been a gamer since my first Atari system, yeah i'm old, lol. I try to play a couple nights a week for a couple hours and more time on weekends, I don't always hit the cap. Remember, you can have all the skill points in the world, there is no replacement for thinking, tactics, and real gun game skill. |

How is that?
@all.
Yesterday I tried Ambush with my Corp; it was quick and dirty (and expensive) all around 11k SP. Skirmish was (as always if you are in a full corp squad) more fun, and the very most time I was around 22k SP and to a maximum of 26k SP. |

I want the cap we had back in closed beta. I think it was daily rolling IIRC.
To be fair dude, this game may be unfinished, but it will also never be finished.
There will always be a gap. What do you think it would be like if you joined the game 5 years from now and there were people with 100 Million SP when you're only starting out?
The best thing CCP can do is make sure players stay with their same skills level, and new players never get put into battles with people above them at all.
Play Domination, it can be shorter than Skirmish and if you're in a squad with a defend point, or squad leader you'll get more points. Don't go for kills. Cap objectives, hack everything.
I have about 6.2 Million SP, been playing since closed beta, I'm definitely not the best. I die a lot. My KD is 0.99. Good thing I don't really care about it. I've never hit the cap, and I usually only get like 4000 SP per match. Sometimes a little lower. I'm getting about 6000 SP now. |

Here is a solution I would appreciate:
Cap adds daily ( same cap as normal, however, spread out over days instead of a week) The cap is capped at two weeks worth, so you can let it go for two weeks without losing any of your possible sp gain,
SP gain will be logarithmic per percentage of your cap, adjusted so your rate of earning is 2x up until the daily cap amount, then decreases to 1x until you hit your saved cap.
This allows casuals to fit in better (weekend or biweekly warriors) without punishing the full time players. The logarithmic setup reduces the distance between casuals and non-casuals by a bit, and allows for a more wonky schedule |
