Hello,
first, im a heavy and tryed the forge gun and the HMG, but i can-¦t decide which one i should choose, then i wear a HMG, the Tanks are getting on my nervs, when i wear a forge gun, the players are doing it.
Which weapon should i take?
Question 2 : Which of this HMG types is better?
Type 1:
-Many shield extenders
-Many armor plates
This one gives many SP and AP but i think it slows you down to strong.
Type 2:
-Many shield extenders
-Damage mods
The goal of this one is to kill the enemy before he can do damage to the armor and does not slow you down.

Disturbingly Bored wrote:Forge Gun is arguably the most difficult and most powerful weapon in the game. People with calm nerves and steady hands are monsters with the thing. But you need calm nerves and steady hands.
HMG has more room for error built into it because it's a bullet hose, but you need to know your maps and flank well to use it best.
As for module setups, I would agree with the others that there is no best. There are a lot of "worsts" though. Shield Extenders and Damage Mods are equally viable, but fill your lows with plates and/or armor reppers. The low-slot shield mods are a waste of limited fitting space.
If you go Commando... well, let me know what you think of it. The very least I can say is that you won't have any problems wondering what you should put in it's module slots. It doesn't have any.
So i-¦ve tried the Commando dropsuit and it is something like an allrounder, but it-¦s not good in destroying tanks or killing people, cause like you said, the first dropsuit has no modules..
The best thing was the Equipment slot that i used for remove explosives for trolling in Skirmish, but how i said, the class itself wasn-¦t very good..
I tried HMG too, but there where always these shotgun-scouts that annoyed the **** out of me.
So i thinked of using a forge gun, the ishukone with damage mods and shield extenders, since i see the same Tank players in the same matches again and again.
Hmmmm..

Now i-¦m a Forge Gunner and it is very efficient, the Assault variant is great against infantry and the Breach one for camping on higher grounds via dropship in the beginning of the match.
I already destroyed one PRO tank together with some others and destroyed two tanks alone in just one game.
But now i have questions on the fitting of the forgegun:
1. I think damage enhancers are really important for higher damage output, but the guard/guardian heavy does only have one High slot for them, the standard heavy dropsuit has 2 but no extra functions. The guard one does have bonus functions, i think it was at level 5, -25% Recoil on heavy weapons and -10% on reload speed. For what dropsuit should i go for?
2. Forgeguns are at level 4, weaponupgrades at level 1, should i first max forgeguns or should i go on weaponupgrades first? |

I use the Dren Heavy (comes with the elite pack) which has 1 high, 2 low slots. It has the same base stats as the lvl 1 Sentinel, minus the racial bonuses.
MY everyday fitting is
Shield Extender (high) Armor Repairer (low) Armor Plates (Low) Advanced HMG (MH-82, standard... or M04, assault - longer range) depending on map Toxin SMG (sometimes a flaylock) M1 Locus Grenade (flux would be just as useful, since your HMG is less effective against shields)
The level of your mods will depend on your current skills and avaialble CPU/PG.
I use the assault HMG alot due to its greater range, and since the heavies primary role is point defense in CQC when I do switch to my standard HMG (more base damage) enemies tend to drop faster as I normally run around with the assault version with inferior base damage.
If you are forge gunning you want to run complex heavy damage mods in your high slot. I prefer the assault forge gun since it has the greatest DPS. WIth Forge gun proficiency lvl 3 and a comp heavy damage mod, the advanced assault forge (DAU) can 2 shot a turret installation, nice for some quick WP.
I would suggest getting your weapon upgrades to lvl 5 so you have access to complex damage mods. YOu dont really need to use proto forge guns, the advanced assault version does just fine in pub matches. Once your have weapon upgradeds done, then consider lvl 5 Forge Gun Operation, then at least lvl 3 proficiency.
Ok, then i first max weaponupgrades for the complex damage mods.
But i still have the question if i should take a dropsuit with 2 highslots for 2 damagemods and no bonuses OR the dropsuit with just 1 highslot but bonuses?

young fat one times are hard in the land of the fattys tis a dark time for our kind all clones are using explosives scarmblers we are endangered . try many things but above all use the cheapest setups you have until the ccp gods hear our pleas of mercy . assult forge guns backed by smgs have become my ally in these darktimes as my tanks are useless . find the high ground and bring a nano hive stay out of the reach of flaylocks and md . if youre going to run hmg ... damage mods , complex damage mods stay away from the sentinel suit stay in the basic
Thanks, and what about this question:
