I know, it's almost as if some of us are concerned with how this is a very big change in design direction at a time when CCP claims to want to put balancing on the backburner, despite the fact that this further tips balance in the favor of a few particular playstyles.

Armor tankers got buffed by new strafe, if anything it's the shield energizer that's making shields superior to armor in terms of survivalbility. You obviously know what you're talking about, care to explain to me how armor got buffed by strafe speed? Do you think it's because the passive HP regen will be more useful if you're strafing a lot and negating enemy fire? What about the reduced speed, especially when the % penalties are applying properly to armor plates?
It would seem like less speed in a strafe game is just asking to die a painful death, so I'm actually quite curious to hear your point of view on this particular aspect of it. |

While I used the Minmatar Logi back then when the proto had 5.3 movement speed, I made a fit with 500 armor and even though I still had much higher MS than the Heavy (stats on fitting screen), strafing was far slower than the heavy's base strafing speed. Now in 1.2 I tested a fit with 516 armor and 4.51 MS (base is 5.0 MS) and I got to still move faster than the heavy. In relation to Shields vs Armor though, do you think that the new strafing speed favors armor as equally as it favors shields? Do you use only basic plates on your test fit, or did you use the new plates to get better speed (since apparently they screw with the stacking penalties)
Also, do you feel that being able to quickly hop side to side is fine as is? If so, why do you feel that it's preferable to having say a slight restriction to rapid back and forth strafe through a slight stamina cost to change directions, or a slight acceleration / deceleration when changing directions. |

CCP Wolfman wrote:Hi guys,
There have been no changes to strafe speed. The movement settings in 1.2 are the same as they were before. I suspect it simply feels a little different because performance is now so much better :-)
CCP Wolfman Oh snap, I got owned.
I'll make sure to record and watch to be sure :p Feels like lots more hopping back and forth is going on. Guess it's back to messing with sensitivity |

This was not true before Uprising 1.2. No no your timer is wrong...remember it's better performance. Maybe Dust's better performance made my timer run at a higher frame rate O_O Yea I have full normal movement forward back left and right, no slow down. This is true both first person and third person. |
