Quake was a bad game in my opinion.
It's the fact that this is a different game. Strafing speed + Bad aiming = Not fun game. I enjoyed playing before 1.2. I agree that strafing is a part of the game, but how are you supposed to try and track a player that is moving erratically with no path of any kind.
I just want the strafing speed back to Uprising 1.0

You're a carebear and need to stop further ruining this game #DUSTISBAD 9,225 players is the most we've ever had on this game that was 5/19 Dude if anyone ruined this game it was your kind. You have no concern for balance and apparently no useful knowledge in game development, trying to turn a high HP team-based game with large maps into an infinite weapon range twitch shooter. This game needs its own niche, not to follow with what Infinity Ward is already marketing, and you need to understand that. Not that you will. Youre self interested and if youre not the only one who can win then it must be broken or ruined. There is no "get good" in this kind of game, rheres balances and counters. Its advanced rock paper scissors not "fastest shooter wins". Gtfo.
You can't really strafe in COD. Most gunfights are won by controlling the map and ADS camping like a pro. Come up with a better argument carebear. |

So basically you're ignoring the points that this is a strong buff to Shield tankers, a minor if not major nerf to armor tankers (depending on layout), a buff to anyone running splash weapons (Godlock comes to mind), or even just the pure aesthetics of some guy hoping left and right firing away.
It also totally borks CQC in that it becomes a complete guessing game when coupled with the hit detection that's still being worked on. And, as I said, it ignores the fact that CCP has decided to put balance more on the backburner in an attempt to hammer out basic mechanics that have yet to be nailed down. This introduces an imbalance to things that are already imbalanced, and that's the primary issue, for me.
It's a very random and out of the blue design change that was yet again never even hinted at by CCP, instead it was just dropped into our laps. |

Let's just go back to 2 days ago. Was anybody asking for an increase in strafe speed? Was anybody saying "This strafe speed is bad? Nobody was complaining about the strafing speed and CCP decided to change it.. People may have liked it, but nobody was asking for it.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. CCP just broke it. They won't break it if they change it back.
I'm not saying that aiming is bad so strafing should be bad too. Strafing wasn't bad!!! I had no problems with aiming until 1.2 with the increase with strafing speed. Not to mention the 'balance' they did with the SR. If they fixed aiming without changing strafing speed, no one would be bothered by the strafing speed. |

lol at people liking faster strafe speeds. Majority are KB/M users who think COD/Battlefield are inferior games. Thing is those two have better aim mechanics and are more tactical than Dust.

You need to understand that CCP Devs go to private forums like Corp/Alliance enjin sites for feedback, creating bias opinions and suggestions that only a percentage of players want. |

You're acting like armor tankers can't strafe either, come to think about it, the new plates actually make sense. I hybrid tank my logi and can take out protobears with std/adv gear now. Flaylocks aren't as good as everyone is making them out to be either, it's just the prototype, which is a damn prototype, it's supposed to be OP. MD is more viable now too since the re-buff and acts as a good equalizer too.
I hate the little ninja fixes as much as the next guy, but this is really a good thing because for once, in a long time, Dust feels like a damn FPS. I actually played for the first time in almost over the month and had fun. |

Lost all credibility when you called quake a bad game. Clearly have no idea what a competative fps should be.
For all the whiners on the forum there are many times more who love the changes, the game was clunky, people cried for them to fix it, they have.

Adapt is a term geared toward in-game mechanics that have a counter, like Shields vs Scrambler rifles. It DOES NOT apply to design. There is no counter for someone who can ruin an analog stick and vaguely aim in your direction with a Mass Driver or Flaylock. Try using a shotgun, then come back and say "adapt" when you find it is useless. |

Actually you lost and real bad. You should give up cause you look silly. Also i was right about this not being an IMP favored change.
Hell even Cosgar agrees with us on this. You know you're on the wrong side of an argument when IMP and Cosgar agree on an issue. |

Excuse me for having an opinion. I'm staying if you have a problem with that then I'm sorry. I know what a competitive fps is and should be. They haven't fixed this game. If CCP fixed this game's "clunkiness" because of people crying for them, then this game would be perfect. I have adapted, and it's bad.

Why not suggest that scouts need more movement speed? I suggest you look up the term "power creep". Is it better for the games health to nerf one thing, or buff everything? Speed is the only real advantage scouts have. They only have more survivability because of bad aiming, what's going to happen when it does get fixed? It's not about power creep, it's about balance because you're buffing one game mechanic to the standards of others. |

Oh my, let's keep the new strafe speed ok?
Before 1.2 it was a bad idea to put sturdier armor plates as it greatly reduced strafe speed, but now movement speed is equal all round which means that the extra plates won't be making my suit too slow. Also, with the update now the plates doesn't reduce my jumping height, I tested it and jumping was unaffected by penalties. The main reason most people are complaining in this about strafe is either because aiming is still busted for you or you're simply not good enough on Dust. I averaged 35 kills with 2 deaths on my last 10 games while on my Gallente Assault with 400-500 armor, no camping spawns, no mass LAV spam. |

Com'on people... The real issue isn't the strafe speeds it's the twitchy unnatural movement. I tried shooting an amarr yesterday that was dodging around looking like Barry Sanders 2.0. Lighter suits should be able to strafe at high speeds and change directions more quickly. Heavier suits should be a little slower and change directions more sluggishly. It's simple physics and would make the game feel so much more natural. I'm guessing they could use the movement speed as some sort of tuning for movement "responsiveness". Strafe speed doesn't bother me, that's fine.
It's hopping left and right in the teleport shuffle that irks me. They added the stamina delay when you stop running, they should add a small stamina cost if you go from one direction immediately to the other. If you're out of stamina, you will move at a reduced speed instead of max.
Either that, or add slight deceleration when you stop moving in one direction, and give them just a brief moment needed to accelerate back in the other direction.
Solves teleporting, still lets people strafe in combat, and adds more player skill by tying it to stamina. |
