this has happened to me a few times already, 10-20 seconds before the battle starts my ps3 freezes but i can still hear my squad mates and I can still talk with them but i can't even exit the game so i gotta press the power button on my ps3. Is this a hardware issue or is it something else? |

what's the PS3 model you are using?
would you try to change the "texture detail" to "low " in option menu , and see if there is any improvement? |

this is the infinite loading screen I'll bet.. an issue that's been quite a pain since uprising was released.
u remain on coms until your ps3 resets but yes this along with the mic glitch are some serious issues that have yet to be addressed |

I have something similar happen where I can not spawn into a map, it freezes at the map. I have other issues, but when I finally got into game, it was only after I changed the textures and details to low. I got through one game... then I tried another game and it instantly blackscreened the moment the game tried to transfer me to the warbarge. |

what is happening is that at the Exact same time a Squad/Party queues for a game the Server is slow on detecting the actually number of players in the Party. This is why I have seen /been in a squad where 5 people get the "infinite loading screen" but Only the Squad leader makes it into the game.
It will also do this to players Not in a Party too because of the Time it takes the Server to realize that opps we have too many players queued for the current battle. |

Even after setting the texture detail low, I'm still encountering a black screen every time I join a battle. To be clear, this is happening to me after joining the battle. I can see the battle map, but when I spawn, the screen is black. I still hear my teammates and can even hear my clone jumping if I press jump. Suicide, same thing. Restart Game, same thing. I can't play Dust right now because of this problem. |

I switched the texture detail to low and it didn't help at all, I was able to do one battle but after that It kept on freezing 3 times in a row, now I dont even wanna play Dust 514 now. No point in relying on luck for the ps3 to not freeze. You guys need to fix this NOW not a month from now and not six months from now, if people are gonna keep on freezing up then they might not even play during the triple sp event. |

I agree, I have spent money on this game IRL. I demand that the products I pay for be worthy of my money. As such, if you need to know how much I've spent, I'm sure CCP can look it up. In either event, this is ridiculous. With what I've spent and the fact that there is an experience holiday coming up and a week of PTO that I've taken and was looking forward to spending some serious time on this game, I demand this fixed. I'm a real customer who has spent real money and I am seriously reconsidering spending my money on a CCP product. Eve is all about economy so you have a large precedent to live up to. Fix it. If the products that I was responsible for were in this state of disrepair, I would be losing serious money and I'm sure my employer would fire me. What is your excuse? |

I just tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling, same thing.
It's like spawn limbo. I can hear the battlefield, but the screen is black. I can hear my clone jump and even turn in the surround sound, but if I pull the trigger nothing. The game has no problem ticking away at my fitting counts. |

I have isolated my issue to the Amar Commando dropsuit. I was able to get into a match by using a default fitting and then went to a supply depot and attempted to change back. The screen remained black. By the grace of god, I was able to hear the beeps and accessed the supply depot again changing to another suit. The battlefield rendered again. The Commando Dropsuit is bugged! |

So I thought I had a bad harddrive, replaced that, fixed the corruptted file issues, but now I still can't get into game reliably without freezing on the load screen. I restart and now get a black screen before I even get to the EULA. Right after the Dust logo. Sometimes it dumps me back to the main menu right have the Move warnings and I have to launch the game again. In all cases, I can get blackscreens and total system lockups. Other games are fine. |

I have the same problem here today for the first time. Screen freezes in the room before battle.It happened 4 times today.I have max number of chat channels and every time i open the gam i have voice on in one specific channel as default . Can it be possible that the ps3 freeze has something to do with the chat channels? Texture Detail was low before the first time ps3 freeze.
I have the 1st Ps3 that came out, the big one. |

I have/had a fat PS3 (last one before the slim launched), and Dust destroyed it completely. It was probably just the final drop, but I've been following the forums since, and several times a week there's a new thread by someone who's either having problems with hard crashes, corrupt hdd's or both.
That's pretty damn bad for a game with 4K players, and especially bad for a console that really really doesn't like crashing.
I would recommend not playing the game at all until they sort out the stability issues, unless you consider your PS3 expendable. |

This is NOT a hardware problem.
I had this problem, I just replaced my ps3 hdd, The issue continued.
The problem doesnt happen to everyone, but it is caused by having too many channels. I went from about 8 down to 3. Haven't frozen since.
This is bad coding, that is all. |

Yep agreed i had the same issue until i got rid of channels and now no more issues. Its funny how the players find a fix before the developers do makes me wonder how Eve ever survived this long. |

Did the defect only happen when you try to re spawn?
The spawn defect will be fixed with 1.4 come out. |

Its not just respawn. since friday my ps3 will freeze every 30 mins 4 times in two hours. im not even in battle, it happens in neocom and/or in battle. i have yet since friday 8/23/13 to play 3 straight games ( sorry Drunk Night) with out it freezing, a complete freeze the ps button wont work to reset .so this past monday 8/26/13 i just stop playing dust. i have deleted dust then renstalled it and the same thing keeps happening. anyone have any ideas? |

CCP Dynastes said it may be related to HD speed, as in it could be a race condition depending on how fast data loads from the HD.

It is not related to your HDD, it is related to the amount of channels you have added.
I replaced my HDD problem still continued
In a post someone said it only happens on their main. This was the same for me
In another post someone mentioned channel amounts.
Removed my channels down to 4(additional/added), game has not crashed since. Past few days told two other people with this issue to try the channel solution. For both of them it worked zero crashes |

did the complete reset to the ps3 , started up dust @ 320 froze @ 333. about to try lowering the chat channels, oddly i did add 2 channels on Friday around the same time this started. and going to lower texture also. thank for the feed back guys |

I cleared my channels  and it worked . no freezes for hour and a half vs 2 or 3 freezes in the same time. from 11 channels to 6 . i did also lower the texture also from med to low ( i've been running mid before this had problem started ) the channel thing caught me, because i add channels for the first time in a long time that day Friday when all this started. i'll let everyone know tomorrow if i still works . thanx everybody !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  |
