So I came from a battlefield back ground. In dust I rolled a heavy with mini gun. First thing, I got into a Corp, a small one but it's one trying to complete. I rolled a heavy and I cannot enjoy playing with them. I guess they are more attuned to the game and know that speed has a major factor in kills I cannot play with my Corp. I arrive to late to the battles they take on and I chase my friends around the battlefield and die so much that I cannot build isk.
The reason for this is that I cannot keep up with them. In return my Corp and others feel I am a sub part player. I feel that I am sub part because I cannot group with my Corp.
How can I build friends and a battle group if it's known that a heavy is too slow to keep up with the Corp, knowing that I cannot contribute to the Corp attack. I play solo more than I would like. If you think I need a new Corp you are dead wrong. I should have the ability to keep up with my friends no matter what my build is. |

Chances are you won't be near all of your squad 100% of the time. And if you squad is trying to take the game seriously, they should wait for you. |

It may mean you may need a new corp instead as well. The first corp may not always be the best. |

So you're saying that the suit with the most weight should be able to keep up with the suit that has the least weight?

As a heavy myself i find it's best to find where all the action is, get there as fast as you can. Most likely the action stays in one place for most of a match, so you should have no problem sticking with your squad.
Also if your corp is super serious get a logi on your ass with a good rep tool, you won't die then. |

Learn to drive an LAV. I don't mean learn how to run people over, but I mean it for transport. As a fatty you should rarely ever be attempting to cross an open field on foot. |

Don't need to say much because others posted some good info for you.
1. Squads stick with their heavies. It's a scratch my back and I scratch yours relationship. Or at least it should be. 2. If they are really serious about winning, a Logi would be your shadow 3. Sometimes you do get separated from squad, learn how to adapt.
I say this is a great opportunity to learn, if you haven't already, how to hold your own if you run into trouble. Look at it as practice. And I have a small feeling that since you're a heavy, you feel as though you can Rambo through the battlefield. Still, use your cover and positioning to outwit your enemy. There's plenty guys out there that have fits that can take on heavies and the truth is, a heavy don't scare people as they once did. |

Yup this^^^ 100%
Also most heavys use LAVs to tranceport themselves from objective to objective. LAVs are an all around good method to dominate the battle field with. Skill into them and show your corp what a heavy in an LAV is capable of (extremely deadly combo). Get the members of your corp to start running LAV squads. Think outside the box. |

You can do what cyrius suggested with the LAV but you could also guard an area such as a letter or an interior area with some allies you feel confident with. |

As a pretty slow moving galente Logi, I will walk/ waddle with heavies that don't drive up to the action, for support and comaradare. I'm trying to develop working relationships with my corp mates so we can more effectively win and have fun. Doesn't sound like you're having fun. . . |

Your corp is doing it wrong. A good Squad leader will use the most of the HEAVY's capacity to optimize gameplay. Like Leaving a player and the heavy or 2 heavies to guard 2-3 close objectives. (2 Heavies at the time is no joke) Plus a corp should always try and roll together. Or flanking while the heavy and 1-2 more players hit the front side....
In other notes, bring down an LAV so you can move FASTER tan them and get into battle while they arrive.... |

Heavies are good for point defense. Very good for point defense. Think of roles as layers. Top layer is light assault and scout. light assault and scout are the guys first to the fight and are your basic infantry. Heavy assault are slower more armored infantry. They usually show up *or most efficient * when the front line is established. After that its support, support is sniper, logistics, and all the other stuff like that. Then Theres heavy support. Heavy support defend points or come in and finish off whatever the infantry left behind and secure the area.
I'm more of heavy support with a dash of heavy assault.
Figuring out your play style will help you out greatly.
PS. Heavy support usually is alone or with other heavy support *mainly because we cant keep up with the others.* |
