I watched my RDV dropping off my BPO lose interest in me or it's task altogether and begin mating with another RDV dropping off a proto tank. I was pretty amused, and it was funny watching the non-squad dude freaking out about the whole thing unfold as his poor tank got manhandled in a RDV mating sammich.
Oddly, it ended well for both of us and we finally got to take off in our whips after watching the RDVs go discovery channel on us for about 5 minutes. maybe an exaggeration, but it went on for a-WHILE.
The RDVs, sadly, didn't survive their instinctual drives. forSerious. I almost shed a tear. |

The RDV isn't the only species to have their mating rituals end in death.

Damn. I burned half a tank of air scuba diving whilst watching a cuddlefish couple watch and react to my presence. Those creatures are amazing. The most alien things I have ever seen. They were rapid fire changing colors and textures, spitting ink, and darting around with their tentacles flaring.
I can't even describe it well enough. It was AMAZING.
