According to CCP, the Gallente weapons are all variants of the other races as placeholders.... Which is questionable seeing as how there placeholders so to speak outperform that which they were placeholding. Tac AR is the SR substitute while it was away. Now that SR is here, Tac AR needs to leave or be nerfed.

It's screwed up right now because in the absence of all the other racial weapons, Gallente gear rules all. Even with the addition of more Amarr gear, CCP still hasn't touched down on the Gallente variants. They still outperform all the races.
