Apparently naughty dog (devs of last of us) caught wind of its fans griping about squads ruining some matches for some of its players and decided to do something about it. Now you can go into a NONE PARTY match. meaning no pregame squad inviting allowed.
Now ccp I'm looking you. can we eh? |

Yeah I've made a thread about this before and I would be an easy way to make pub matches more competitive, or if they made a tiered SP lobbies so people with similar SP levels are playing against each other, and lobbies with no restrictions for squads who want to run proto against other squads doing the same. |

Pub stompers would probably just q-sync. Although then they may end up on opposing teams. Could be good for new players. I second this. COD has lobbies like these. |

I don't think removing squad combat from a squad combat game is altogether a good idea.
I'd much rather see a militia mode. |

This seems to be a terrible terrible fix at the cost of the few who do enjoy the social aspects of that game. |

Not really, we can keep the current instant battles we have and just add new ones that are squad free, but players can set up squads in the warbarge if they want and then they have an advantage over the other side because they are using teamwork. |

And then, if you happen to find a group that is using mics and works well together you can't stick with them to the next game? Or they have to change the game mode to stick together and learn the magic invocations to make that happen? No. This is a move in the wrong direction.

You must not know, we have the ability to add contacts so if you group up with random players who you want to keep playing with you can add them as a contact and squad up with them after the match and then play in the unrestricted lobbies. |

We should allow mercs to choose their level of difficulty by segregating battles by sec status and each sec status has a meta number. The meta numbers of the suit, weapons and all module would be added together and that total would be used as the sec status meta number. Security status 1.0 would have a low meta and below 0.5 would be anything goes.
This would stop proto gear from entering a 1.0 battles. Player skill and SP choices would make more about of a difference and suit fits would be more diverse. To carry a better weapon a merc would have to sacrifice something or use lower tier gear.

Sounds cool. Still love a militia only mode :( |

This is exactly how Dust should operate and It would increase new player retention because it would greatly reduce pub stomping. |

Stay in a security stat 1.0. With a meta of 1-3 there would be little room for anything but militia. I just want to enter a place where I know what I am getting into. I am not a top level player so I would stay closer to the middle of the line up. |

I don't know why they don't tier/ offer game types with a bunch of variables.
Games for tiers of SP.
Games for tiers of armor quality (militia, advanced, prototype).
Games without vehicles (I wonder how many of these would be ghost towns?).
Games without premade squads (as suggested).
Games for tiers of weapon quality (militia, advanced, prototype).
Games for equipment bought with ISK only, not Aurum (I wonder how many of these would be ghost towns?).
Games without voice comms.
Games with a limited number of respawns PER PERSON.
Games without infantry. Panzer battles, anyone?

Team Work, and communication are the Most OP thing in this game. by a long shot. no Sagaris/Flaylock/Visiam/TAR/Proto will even come close to the power of a well oiled squad. But im not sure segregating them would be good for the game.
I do think there are some things that could be done to make squads a little less OP: -Share tac-net with the entire team. (maybe a bug but often when I run solo, I will not see any enemy info, no red dots no chevrons ect.) This alone would be Huge for new players running solo. "oh all my buddies are shooting those Red dudes over there"
-Share drop links. (i think this is already happening now?)
- Share defend orders with the team (players will see a couple orders put up by Squad leads. they can then go help defend mr Super Awesome Proto elite dude and gain more points as well)
-do something with orbitals. maybe like a single shot orb that can be earned by a individual.
-match making balancing. (IE if a 6 man squad ques. there is a %100 percent chance a 6 man squad is on the other team. small scale corp vs corp. with a bunch of blues aiding. or not)
Basically the only advantage a squad should have is a separated voice com.

Ugh, I think instead of trying to figure how to balance the MP side of their games, Naughty Dog would be better served focusing on the SP side and get rid of Multiplayer for games which are inherently about their story campaigns. Just because the franchise that gobbles up all the money in the world is all about the Multiplayer doesn't mean other developers have to divert resources or water down the Single Player side to tack on a pointless feature. Besides, without the costs associated with MP like maintaining servers and such, it's easier to make a profit. |

Thats right, lets give up the part about this game that is actually fun so we can cater to super Social Anxiety Disorder.
Instead... how about everyone with SAD... go get Therapy. And then get a good corp. |
