So, to keep Dust alive for a long time, this issue boils down to 2 "sub-issues": 1) How do we get people to play this game? 2) How do we keep players from getting bored? Oddly enough, both of these problems have the same solution. I have said it before, and I will say it again. Make Dust 514 an RPG FPS. It's obvious. With the incredible New Eden universe, there are a million RPG elements waiting to be explored. This should be done in Dust, and Eve as well. There is no room for RPG in CoD; you die, you're dead, forever. But in Dust (and Eve) your intellect survives - you could have an RPG experience. This could be the the "nearly first" of its kind. New players make a free character. The get a customizable avatar, a job (with New Eden ramifications), a "nation", a family and living quarters. And then some crappy corp takes your home! So you suit up and fight, on the ground or in space. Casual players might start by downloading a free game (contact me!) and find that it is a New Eden game... they can make an avatar and be part of that RPG experience... this is the future. CCP, you can grab it RIGHT NOW. If you don't someone else will. |

1) they don't, there's a reason the avg amount of players is 5000-6000 2) again they don't, the avg has gone from 7500 to the 5000-6000 mentioned before. |

Just like EvE has been a bunch of spread sheets for 10 years and will remain that forever (to be honest with games like Elite and star citizen i think forever is more like 2 to 3 years) Dust will be a lobby FPS shooter forever and lobby FPSes are unlikely to exist for much longer.
Unless CCP can pull something completely radical out of its ass (or just full on copy things from games like destiny, Titanfall, planet side 2 or the Division) Dust has no future.
This is of course highly unlikely. The two games they have EvE (a space trader game which has existed since Elite) and dust (a lobby fps which has existed since marathon) do not give CCP a very good track record. |

And when you die in multi-player you re-spawn instantly right?
