Should Prototype be before Advanced ?
Prototype : the original or model on which something is based or formed.
So advanced gear should be better than Prototype .. in theory. |

Yeah, i know about the "I'm a PRO gamer" Illusion.. I just saying that it makes no sense. Advanced gear should be base on Prototypes. |

The idea is supposed to be that ADV is the best stuff currently fielded by armed forces. PRO is the cutting edge new tech that hasn't yet seen field testing and widespread adoption.
But that is the problem you see.. Prototypes are never as good as the Finish product, and most "prototypes" are normally rubbish until they go to the "Advanced" development stages. |

I was just presenting the idea they're running with. As for them not being as good as the finished product, sure, they might not be. A current prototype weapon might be making use of a newly miniaturized powersource, one with far higher potential output. In the current PRO weapons it's only achieving a marginal increase in output over conventional methods when, refined, it should be much higher. Fits in well with the LR, actually. When the Viziam prototype blows up in your face it blows up hard.
Agreed. But Prototype shouldn't be better than all the Advanced gear by default. Prototype gear should have "some" problems, that is why it is in the "testing" stages. |

TBH I agree with you but I don't really mind at all, I mean firstly you can't reason with :CCP magic:, and secondly it's the last of problems in this game lol. Also, prototype sounds "cooler" than advanced so it has some appeal.
But it is a problem in the game... if you close the gap between Advanced and Prototype, that will help to balance the game. You still get the "good" looks of the Proto gear, but without the overkill. |
