In a faction warfare match with Shadow Cavalry (or Company? Cant remember) we decided that both teams play tanker games. In doing this, our team called down eight (yes eight) tanks and capped out the vehicle limit. All were militia variants with Large/Small missile turrets.
This resulted in a onesided match with SC who had brought in Standard HAVs with Railguns and Proto Swarms (taking advantage of us telling them our plan for the lulz) but this was fine as the sheer amount of missiles flying is what we really wanted to test.
Now, as expected, it looked like World War II flak cannons. What was even more hilarious (besides how quickly our armored assault was removed from play) was the Framerate Massacre that occured shortly after.
I myself actually had to be escorted back to base to wait for the remainder of the match to ensure rewards were received. Then the power light on my PS3 started blinking yellow and a sense of dread ran over me.
Thankfully this was not the signal of death, but regardless the addage stands: Vehicles and their weapons = LAG.

Yellow light from Lag? That is a first. I have heard and seen it turn red, the ps3 would turn off and it will have a blinking red light. Restarting it will fix it but a yellow light? I can see it happen on the fat ps3, the lag might have caused the ps3 to overwork itself and forcing it to turn off. Good thing it wasn't the YLOD. |

True story, I use 3-8 ice-packs arranged around and on-top of my PS3 at all times.

If you are using the fat ps3, I highly recommend replacing the thermal paste in the ps3. You can play without having to worry about overheating. |

It is still the YLOD but it just didn't stay on the YLOD which is good.... For now. |

If anyone has a fat ps3 right now, then it means that the warranty has expired. Unless, you bought it used from a store, which is only 7-30 days depending on their policies. I had the YLOD 3-4 times but I was so dumb to end up paying it $150 for getting it fixed. I am just give a tip on what anyone can do, instead of paying $150. Also, if anyone doesn't feel safe and wants to send it anyway, I recommend doing the blow drying trick to back their data from the ps3. |

Not putting it in a closed entertainment system with no air flow and gaming for hours on end. It is a computer, it needs cool air around it to stay cool. Yet so many people think that they can have it encased in glass and have no detrimental effects. |

Hardly. More like evidence that there might be something wrong with the OP's PS3. |

I bought my PS3 in May 2012 specifically for Dust 514. It sits quietly on top of my glass computer desk which has no backboards, just a flat surface.
Although, not sure if it matters but I was the one calling in all the tanks. Well, 6 of them for sure. |

Limited to 7 per side. That's at least 7 people that can't hack things. Consider all installations, CRUs and Supply Depots to be a total loss.
If you can't figure out how to beat that.... lol |

Can confirm its 8 as we had 6 Missile Somas, 1 Blaster Soma and 1 Rail Sica.
We won, actually. Originally we were screwing around but when SC decided to pull out Standard HAVs and Proto AV materials we went back to playing seriously. |

I used to have overheating issues with my PS3. I put my PS3 on top of a wire dog crate and now I don't have any problems at all. |
