I know there's a good amount of QQ about this sidearm, but I really didn't know what to say, I didn't even try it. I generally hate QQing, I hate the nerf-mania, I hate the fact that everything is becoming underpowered and I hate what happened to Dropships, Laser rifles and ( ) my beloved Mass Drivers. So I rather stay out of complain threads.
But... I don't know how to say it without sounding like an annoying crying kid... let's see...
To me it's like a pre-nerf Mass Driver... but it's a sidearm!
So... Flaylock Pistol > Mass Driver.
Something must be wrong... right? |

Yeah I don't know who made this sidearm better than the Mass Driver and then gave it the least fitting requirements of all the sidearms on top of that.

The Flaylock is the proof that CCP hates armor.
Its does 135~% damage to armor (300 damage per shot if maxed out damage skill), fires quickly, reloads quickly, and has splash damage, which is overkill considering plates bring you down to heavy speed (at half the eHP). |

I can't aim with the damn thing (I know, right??)..... and the SMG, when I use it it's like a switch goes off in my brain and I go into freak-out mode and see nothing but red, my heart rate doubles, and all my bullets go off into outer space. Seriously. And knives, don't get me started. I suck with them, I'm suprised I don't stab myself half the time.
So yeah, flaylock is awesome and I die to it many times a game, but it's just another sidearm in the long list of sidearms I suck ass using.
For whatever reason the scrambler pistol is where it's at for me. I miss the old scout II / B suits that didn't have a sidearm.... then i didn't feel like such a spaz.

I love stripping the shield off a heavy with a charge shot on the SCR and then switching to the Flaylock to kill all their armor in one hit. |

I wouldn't have a problem with it if it didn't have a ridiculous splash range and/or a huge percentage of splash damage. Granted, the lower end flaylocks aren't as broken, but it scales nicely when it comes to killing people but not being very good at the game. I hate to say it, it takes substantially more skill to drive cars over people than it does to kill a person with a core flaylock. |
