compared to the Minmatar logi, the gallente one is 2 highslots down for not much in return. Of course, if you're not fitting highslots, you get more CPU for other stuff, meaning better mods or lol-cheap-militia stuff. Right now if I want to run logi I use the dren minmatar logi suit with no skill bonuses (dual tanked shield buffer and armor rep + plate). My tanking skills are almost all in armor. I'm wondering, does the basic gallente logi suit suffer in terms of survivability or is there something I'm missing? I'm considering puting 50k sp to unlock it and use it over the dren bpo. |

Been working on a Gallente Logi charcter alt and from what I've read the main draw back is the movement speed?
My plan was to use it to follow a heavy around so I didn't think the speed would be such an issue. |

before my respec i had played with the gal suit a bit. i found i had a fairly high survival rate. i had been a heavy since early open beta and found the transition to the gal suit easy because i armor tanked it out and could survive most battles. i then found myself following heavies around because of speed and also play style. if you can i would find some one that runs gal logi and some one who runs heavy and play with them in a squad. those 3 can hold down a objective. |

the g1 trades that high slot for better equipment. an extra slot over the caldari logi c1. as well as the bonus having a reduction in equipment fitting costs. I personally like it, Its a bit slower than the Minmatar, but a bit tougher.
The gk.0 prototype has 3 high slots, for fitting either Dmg, or Sheilds. and 5 lows, for fitting either Things to keep you alive, Or more speed/cpu/pg/ and more options for exotic fittings. |

There is nothing that you are missing here. I've run Gallente and Minmatar logi suits on an alternate character, and after the respec I stuck with Gallente.
The Standard Gallente logi, G-1 with no high slots I find to be a waste of ISK to run. With no ability to add shield modules, I'm typically running somewhere on the order of 110 shields, and what 200 armor? The movement speed, being less than the Minmatar standard logi suit also hurts survivability.
Add this to the fact that the base rep bonus on the suit is probably going to be on the order of 1-2 HP/S (assuming here that you have not skilled into the Advanced Gallente suit yet, or you'd probably be running it) and the 2 low slots, there are no secret hidden bonuses to this suit - it just sucks compared to the Minmatar.
The advanced Gallente M/1 is much more survivable. The 3 low slots add additional speed/armor plate or armor reps for survivability, and you can stack two advanced or even 2 complex shield extenders which provides some much needed buffer.
The basic gallente is a hard suit to make work..... |

very informative replies, thank you very much. I don't have any advanced equipment unlocked (besides the stable drop uplink ), so it does in fact seem pointless to switch to the G-1 logi at this time. Perhaps once I solidify some more of my core skills, I'll jump straight into the adv gal logi (which does look to be fantastic, especially with the extra 3HP/S repair), but for now all signs point to me sticking to my dirt cheap minmatar dual-tanked one, which I still manage to get good kills with.
dren M-1 Logi dren Assault Rifle 2x basic shield extenders enhanced armor repairer basic armor plate various basic equipment various basic grenade
Costs like 7k, and has enough CPU to switch some basic stuff to militia where you don't get a performance hit to make it even cheaper, or to easily upgrade the equipment or to use a GEK-38
again, thanks! |

Stable Drop Uplink... Which one is that? Spawns more people, or less CPU/PG usage?

same as standard but requires 8 less CPU (useful for squeezing it onto scout/assault, not so much a logi with tons of cpu). Needs the skill at lvl 2. |

One thing to keep in mind about the gallente logistics suit is you only get 1 weapon. Assualt gets a side arm and a light weapon slot. I personaly have had to many 1 v 1s where weapon switch decided the battle. Also gallente logistics has less armor and sheilds to begin with so ultimately ( as I was told truthfully) you play logi as a support roll and engage more with assualt. Add to the fact you can make different suits to do similar (but not equal to) things llike the logistics I would advise going assualt...unless you are a support beast. |
