CCP Eterne wrote:Hey, we have an internal roadmap. Our lead designer is currently at E3 but when he gets back the plan is for him to write a dev blog that will at least give a rough overview of our roadmap in the coming months. We anticipate people will be pleased with it. Where is the roadmap?
Not trolling or ranting.
I am asking a question. |

As I said, the devblog gives a rough overview of it. CCP Praetorian mentions what we're working on in the next several months.
This post lays things out more directly. There is of course a lot more nuance to it than that, but it's not feasible for me to lay it all out because I'm not someone engaged in developing or deploying the roadmap. |

The link to EVE will take a long time from what I've been hearing.
I hope the Player Trading comes in one of these monthly updates, even if its a simple trading screen between two players like Borderlands 2 had. |

so what does a long time mean?
And when do we get an MMO experience.
I would like a roadmap that isnt what is for the next 2 months but at least lets us know CCPs plan to deliver the game they are advertising, |

Long time as in 1 year - 2 years, possibly even 3.
I'n glad they're not focusing on the MMO side though, they really need to make Dust a fun and enjoyable FPS before they start making it a true MMO. |

then they should tell us when we should expect these features. This is what they have talked about and promised were coming. A time frame of 1-3 years doesnt cut it. |

they're not telling us because they don't want to say something, then be wrong and have the forum complain (because it's impossible to predict exactly what will happen in the future) |

ok - but it must be mapped out by quarters. And I still dont see why CCP is promoting these elements: MMO, link to Eve, player trading, open economy, if they have no intention of telling us when they may be implemented. For all we know these could be scheduled for 2017. Which is a strange marketing strategy if thats the case. |

Since they are focusing on the fps side of things I doubt anyone will see the "mmo" stuff anytime soon. Maybe some mmo stuff will pop up every now and then , but not many drastic ones. |

The seemingly logical conclusion is that those plans are so far off tjat divulging that info would drive people away.
We already know that item trading and dust/eve transfers are way out there. It even has me wondering if waiting is worth it considering the Ps4 coming. I might be better served to delete dust and let my passive run while they get their act together.
If they tell people that racial variants are for the holidays, new game modes are next year, and the rest of the vehicles are 18 months away, people will realize that 8 months of passive will get them the new stuff and stop buying boosters.
There are parts of this game that are really good. It is not being developed well, and is sufferring because of it.
The dream of potential only sells so much and if I were one of those poor folks who spent more than 50 bucks supporting this game I would be quite mad that CCP had taken me out behind the woodshed and not even bought me dinner before getting elbow deep in my rear. |
