By Dude you mean 3 pixel tall black dot that could be a scout, heavy or pile of bricks; that if he is anywhere in the dead zone under your ship you cannot see at all due to the ship model blocking 1/3 of the screen. This tiny Dot can see and hear you coming from half the map away and can shoot at you before you even know he is there.
He was able to get into a good camping spot on top of a tall building because you had to wait a minute or more for your Python to arrive because You have to get to a safe spot to call it in. By the time you get there 5 free LAVs have been called in and you have to wait for them to be delivered then for one to blow up before you bring in your ship. |

Baal Roo wrote:I still think dropships should get a resistance to forge guns, but take increased knockback from them. This way, they are less likely to OHK, but it also requires the pilot to have a high level of control of their craft to not get knocked off off course and crash. The resistance being on the dropship would also mean forge gun vs. HAV balance wouldn't be affected.
30% resistance 150% knockback
Make that 70% resistance. Lore wise just say the shield warps the hit around the hull and being off the ground allows us to do this.
As for knock back. No. Why? because its already pretty bad. We get knocked so much that liging up another shot takes quite some time. The current knock back is enough to make shooting back almost impossible in the time a froge can shoot again. Increasing KB will make it impossible to do anything but flee. |

Remember the thread title is about Pythons. Not Logis, or Gallente. The issue is also about effectiveness. You have to tank hard to survive a forge. This limits potential fittings too much. If you do anything but tank you die. We should be able to perform our role with several fittings not just a tank heavy one.
I have more than 8.5 mill in dropships and fly a lot and I know about knockback, remember this is phytons the OP is talking about. |

Kekklian Noobatronic wrote:First off, it's only a 1 shot if you're stupid enough to fit virtually no tank.
Second, if you're flying a highly maneuverable craft in a predictable flight pattern and you get hit, it's your fault.
Third, the craft you're flying has to be light enough to get off the ground by use of VTOL jets alone - it's not going to be a brick. .
I started to reply then realized your points are not only not right, they aren't even wrong |
