This is why LAVs are broken. Tednugget one of the best tank drivers in the game told me his logistics LAV is a better tank than his HAV. I'm an infantry player and I don't like tanks but there is no justifiable reason an LAV should have more survivability than a tank. |

LAVs are not broken, its milita LAVs which are they are too good for free and also 1.8mil SP into the LLAV to make it have lvl5 passive skills and a bunch more SP into the support skills for the mods and to have extra CPU/PG

A standard HEAVY attack vehicle should be able to tank more than even a prototype LIGHT attack vehicle. An LAV's survivabilty should be based on speed not its defense right now it has speed and lots of HP and that's why its broken, it has the best of both worlds. |

My LLAV has more resistances on it than my shield tank due to the passive bonus plus everyone uses swarms which shields are perfect for and hardly anyone used FG because they require lol aiming, how mnay LLAV drivers have the LLAV skill upto to lvl5? hardly anyone does but i do and it pays 1.8mil SP to do that and it helps
The gunlogi generally is double the tank what the LLAV is but its a big target and proto hurts that more than my LLAV due to less resistance and also it cant get away
The LLAV has speed but swarms still catch up to it nearly everytime because lolswarms turn 270deg on the spot and still go around corners and go invisible
If the swarms get fixed and milita LAVs get nerfed and cost ISK and logi vehicles get points for doing logi stuff then the problem will go away for the vast majority of the playerbase |

LLAV are nigh-impossible to kill solo because of their insane tank. The fact that it can tank about as much as a tank and be 20x faster presents a problem. Yeah, LLAVs are supposed to be 'tough' like in the description, but when my proto AV nade only does about 10-15% of your shield, which then regenerates in a few seconds, there's a problem. I don't even bother trying to kill them anymore because of just how damn hard it is. An LAVs main advantage should be its speed and agility, and it's survivability should be determined by the driver and his skills, not the fact that it's got a ridiculous tank and can just bulldoze people all day with no ill effect.
And on that note, they should definitely have some sort of WP incentive other than just running people over. WPs should be given for using things like the active scanner and remote rep module among other things. |

GL hitting it is but true none the less. Also I think that says more about the weakness of milita tanks than the strength of LAV's.
the whole "speed tank" philosophy sounds great but is horrible when put into practice. AV weapons such as forge guns, swarms and the ever homing AV grenades in the hands of adapt mercs just can't be dogged with any amout of speed. Still working on skill tanking too; no luck there but progress is being made.
In my opinion, if the reds are calling in vehicles and you aren't, don't complain.

Do you believe CCP's intended primary use for the LAV was running people over?
If you believe it is then you're delusional, if your realistic and said no then you understand that there will be a change to the LAV mechanics just look at dropships squishing during closed beta. |
