Current Problems (besides bugs) with Clones and Isk
- Corporations have little incentive to war as passive isk generates more than war does.
- The cost of entry is massive for new groups trying to get into (240 mill alone for a Cargo Hub)
- Nothing is really dynamic or changing
Suggestion
- Turn off the passive isk gain by removing the clone to isk generation.
- Create a player driven clone market where after a districts storage fills up, all clones are sent to Genolution but are not automatically sold.
- Based on the number of clones in the player market, determine the selling price, isk would still go back to corporation (minus a fee) but supply and demand would change how much they get. Basic supply and demands with a ceiling but no floor. This would all be automatic so no need for players to sell clones manually unless they want to.
Result When many corporations are sitting around just generating clones and not warring, market gets flooded with clones and packs are extremely cheap meaning new corps can buy clones to attack. When market is low on clones, meaning there must be wars going on, prices are higher. |

To be honest I think that PC shouldn't even revolve around clone count when determining who wind districts, when it does there is no incentive to sell clones when stock piling them works better, why not use the stability metre idea and have clones only as a supplementaly resourse that players buy to allow them to boost stability or reinforce areas. |

This is basic economics and a great idea. We will probably see this alot when the free market opens. If you are just selling clones to make money and not use them, then no one will want them and the price drops. If people want them, they buy them and attack, the price rises.
CCP can possibly put this into the game already. I was playing Guild Wars and they had an item called "Gems" in which the price would automatically change based on how many people were buying the item and how much was bought. That could be used as a stop gap until we get a real economy. |
