I have noticed that when tracking and aiming with an HMG that unless the small center dot on the targeting reticle is on target that the bullets in the spread circle will not register. So, if the center dot is off target even by a minute amount, but the target is still in the circular reticle the bullets within the spread will not register. But if I do have the center dot on target then all of the bullets in the spread will register.
Has any one noticed this as well, or is this maybe a problem within my client?
Thanks in advanced. |

Not specific to the HMG. It's the same with every weapon.
The Crosshair is suppose to represent the direction bullets will have a chance of traveling to, but it doesn't function that way in this game.
In this game it functions as a "center of screen" indicator and distraction to get you to lose focus of the center when you are moving and shooting (when the crosshair spreads apart).
All bullets will travel directly to the center of the screen. At least thats what I've experienced.
This is excluding the shotgun. The shotgun functions as it should when it comes to directional spread chance. |

I wish this was true of tank mounted small missiles. You can aim center mass on someone and your missile will shoot off into the heavens for some unknown reason. Why even have a marker on the small missile turrets? Killing someone with them is 100% luck. |

Not the large ones mind you, those go where you shoot them even while moving, the smalls though..... So horrible. |

Not to be rude or anything but this thread is specifically about the aiming problems of the HMG. Its even in the topic title... Mind if I ask you to keep it on topic? |

I've noticed this as well, and it definitely feels wrong. Especially when gettin shot at by the HMG you see bullets whizzing off in all directions.
I think it has something to do with the cone reticule hit detection as I have noticed this with the shotgun as well. |

How to aim an HMG:
Make a horizontal swipe....stop moving swipe when you hit something. If it stops hitting something continue swipe until it does. |

This is not "aiming".... this is a functional spray and pray... The need to have someone directly centered isn't a problem at ranges past 15m, but once they close in on that (CQC) the Heavy's tuning speed becomes too slow to keep the target centered, but usually one should be able to keep them in the circle... If the shots aren't registering while they're in the circle and not centered there is a functional disparity. |

if this is a balancing factor to ensure the HVY isnt OP at close range, so be it. but this even happens at longer ranges up into my effective range (basically in all my optimal range this happens). with that little damage and high a dispersion (disperison becomes a big problem at effective range)... i guess the only solution is to pick up an AR |

Doesn't mean it's not ******** if all you can aim with is the stupid dot then just have it be the dot don't give us the illusion that we have a wider area of effect |

Yeah ever since Uprising my AR's aiming has been soo messed up. - as in Hit detection, sensitivity, and hip fire. I have had to lower my sensitivity to 0 just to stay on target. U can eaither aim good while ADS with low sensitivity or aim good while hip firing with high sensitivity. Please CCP just put the aiming system back were it was in chromosome. |
