The Faction Warfare connection is actually pretty strong right now. Winning battles on the ground can drastically lower the amount of time it takes to take a system (or drastically increase it, if you're losing said battles) and the same measurement also makes the system less/more costly to maintain. For those of you unfamiliar with FW mechanics, you can't dock in an enemy system, so not only are you costing the other side monetary (Loyalty Point awards) by denying them systems, you're also denying them places to stop/rest/repair/hide. The FW battles (while just another skirmish at this point in time) do actually have a strong bearing on FW in EVE at the moment. Of course, CCP had to test this kind of stuff first, and not just release it Galaxy-wide right from the get-go. That's why PC is only in Molden Heath at the moment. But eventually they'll have it expanded out.
In regards to PC, I haven't done a single match, but I hear it isn't doing as great as people had hoped. Do you think it would have been any better if you could go for any of the tens of thousands of districts across the galaxy (~5000 systems, and multiple districts per planet)? They had to test it first. Hopefully with the feedback they can make it much better.
The aiming is definately difficult at the fine-tuning level. It can be a real PITA trying to line up that sniper shot when you can't get the crosshair to move just a smidge instead of the big leaps it tends to make. Other than that, I don't really have much trouble in tracking or hitting people, and I've played all sorts of FPSs over the years (majors being Halo, COD:MW, CS, DoD, HL, etc). Take that for what you will.
Of course, I am firmly of the opinion that DUST shouldn't have shucked it's Beta status, but I heard a rumor that it wasn't 100% CCP's doing, so I don't know who to blame exactly for that one.
So far it seems like anyone who hasn't agreed 100% with you is a "fanboy," though, so despite my concessions and agreement that DUST 514 isn't a finished product for a 1.0 release build, I await being labled. |

They are a wonderful and dedicated bunch; they write extensive excel spreadsheets; write programs which link directly into a players character; create websites, with their own forums etc etc. Suffice to say the list of what the EVE Online player-base have, will and shall do for the game of EVE Online goes on longer than the list of what women are looking for in a man.
I don't think I need to link examples here.

Sorry, mate, but when your "preamble" against the fans of a certain game rants against common behavior of game fans as if it was unique to your target population, it makes everything else look pretty ****** by comparison.
Now, as to your actual argument, after you were done making a fool of yourself, that could possibly be part of the case, but we'll never exactly know for sure. |
