Now for a couple months the dust players have endured attacks that rain from the sky
but we havent been able to send anything that way. I understand there is something that will be released so we can send a little damage to them
but nothing that will strike fear in them like an orbital does to us. I think everyones has had an experience when their team was doing great in a match an orbital change the tide. Or hear the sound of an orbital close by and see the lights and right before it strikes you say a quite prayer (very very quickly) that its yours.
Now that you see what type of fear im talking about your asking "Kid what could make these arrogant Capsulers fear us as much as they should?" Well i have a question for you what does a captain fear the most? And the average merc with little creativity says "His ship blowing up in a black void known as null space" but they dont fear that its a captains honor to go with his ship (even if he'll be reborn and just buy another) CCP recognized the lack of fear and made something called poding, were after a Capsuler inevitable demise his cockpit is ejected and can be attacked and if destroyed. that pilot has to spend isk and i believe precious SP to get to were he was.
Before you say that we shouldnt as mercs have the power for something like that i completly agree. The answer to the prior question is losing his ship while he lives taking it from him while it is still breathing. Compare it to when you just bought a new tank skilled into it a little and spent time trying to get the fit just right and after calling it in someone jumps in the drivers seat. Thats the agony i want to cause to EVE players. Imagine that mercs can just over run ships. Im not saying it should be uncontested (no fun in that) PvP or even AI.
Scenario: Dust players just lost a match because an EVE pilot was in the right place at the right time. Instead of going home and trying to sleep of the orbital they just ate some of the Mercs start grinding for a bit of isk to buy a small transporting ship that is ment for boarding ships. One of these Mercs remembers the name of the lucky pilot that isnt so lucky anymore. And through some skill points being spent on the Mercs side they fly this transporting ship (strictly ment for transportation and boarding) out in to the Null and find their revenge by boarding the EVE pilot. Now this pilot is not very prepared so he only has standard issued AI Drones instead of spending that few extra isk on something with more fire power or paying upkeep to have clones on his ship for such an occasion. Ending result pilot loses his ship to Mercs who can either Sell the ship back to the owner for double the cost with or without its cargo, sell it to another pilot for dirt with or without cargo, keep in Corp hangar for your own EVE pilots, sell the cargo and destroy the ship and make a statement, or even destroy it all and make an even bigger statement.
This also opens up more interactions between Dust and EVE such as buying selling clones, ships, and information (names, times, ect)
If you want any more details let me know and feed back is always nice
