I've made posts about this before, but I thought I should make a simple thread on this subject.

Change the LR damage increase to be based on time that the beam spends on the target, rather than how long you fire the weapon.

No matter what other balance changes may be made, with the current mechanics, you will always be able to cook the LR up to 90% heat level and then sweep back and forth across the head of your target until you get the kill.

I propose that the damage increase rate be buffed, but that the increase only occur while the beam is on the target.

If the beam comes off the target, have the multiplier lower at half the rate of the increase, such that a player who is good at strafing has a reasonable chance against an LR even if they're using another weapon. Meanwhile, as skilled LR user can simply track them as they strafe and keep building their damage without the weapon being susceptible to stupid cheese like I stated above.

I see this as a way that Laser Rifles can be given back their deadliness at range without being cheesy faceroll like they were in Chromosome.

Alright first of all if CCP takes out the laser rifle out of the game then **** it i'm leaving cause that is about the only cool weapon that i like to use (i know you guys don't care if i leave and blah blah blah).

Secondly for the love of god the laser rifle is NOT worthless I use it on most maps and i usually get about 15/3 when i get a map thats good for the laser rifle. The thing that i see what most people are having trouble understanding about the weapon is that its very situational and you NEED to know when to retreat to an open area and lure people to come after you. There no shame in retreating so that you can then regain your advantage. Also i would suggest to anyone considering to use the laser rifle is that you should position yourself ABOVE and AWAY from the frontlines.

Third pick your targets wisely unlike the AR this is not a spray and pray weapon its a precision LASER weapon. Si what does that mean you may ask yourself? Well it means that since the majority of players love to join the band wagon of going shield CALDARI (hint hint nudge nudge) then you're going to shred through their defences and when i mean shred that's an understatement i should say obliterate.
