Good snipers can make stuff render at 550m+, my longest kill 582m last night scored a 556m. Theres a few methods in 1.1 for getting what you want. 1.2 wont be an issue, plus, at 350m, if you don't understand your positioning versus the enemy positions, yes you will get tarcked down fast. |

the problem isn't chromo vs 1.1/uprising. The problem we have is lack of understanding of range v rendering, and peoples patience. |

Yeah, because the one thing i want more than anything else is to be MCC sniped from even farther away Use cover. You do realize that some of the few maps that we have consist of 80% open space, correct? I remember the old days when snipers use to perch themselves on that infamous Witch Mountain in Manus Peak during Chromosome and were able to snipe off anyone even those who are deep in their own redline. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of the players here don't ever want to see that again.
I liked Manus Peak, but I'd agree current sniping terms are better. |

Also, I think fixing some of the redline hiding behaviors by changing the redlines so people can get to snipers is a good idea. Who ever heard of a battle where you can't run wherever you want (except for things like cliffs or rivers)?
As far as damage falloff, I hope they allow full damage at least out to 400m with falloff after that point. Sniper rifles nowadays shoot farther than that with great effect.
But fixing long distance rendering is absolutely critical. It helps me scout for my team, helps me get closer to potential targets and know when to run away.
My two cents.

Redline is fine, they are always able to be counter sniped.

Redline is fine, they are always able to be counter sniped. damage fall off for a sniper needs to be from 650+ meters minimum I can render people out at just below 600m, not an issue, if you know how. let's see all you need to get 600m rendering is the following. step 1 - reduce the graphics setting on your ps3 to Pong settings. step 2- face north then spin 273.4 Degrees right step 3 - shoot the nearest heavy once in the head, this must bring him to exactly 0 armor and 0 shield, as long as this heavy is alive this trick will continue to work. step 4 - crouch and then stand up exactly 19 times. step 5 - swear a blood oath to dark god of omen and sacrifice 2 pigs step 6 - turn off the play station and then repeat the process and in the next match you play you will have a 600 meter render distance for exactly 50 seconds, make the best of it.
requires 2* things, not listed above, I play with full settings on ps3 also. |
