I'd like to suggest a new statistic to report at end of game. I'm calling it Clone Power, but ir might be better described as clone effectiveness over time...
KDR reports only kills and misses out on information also important in game play - we know this. War points per game (WPg) also misleads as it does not reflect clone use. So if K/D and WP are reliable indicators of player success, I propose the be properly used.
Since K is included in WP it can be ignored for this exercise as WP indicates the usefulness of a player in a game (minus things like blowing up hives, uplinks, and counter hacking which should be awarded WP IMHO). A straightforward reportage of the average WP per game is leptokurticly skewed due to the weekly skill cap. Deaths (D) on the other hand indicate player ineffective ness. So the more war points a player has per death indicates the effectiveness or power imparted by each clone that player uses. Here come the maths:
CPg = WPg/D
However if the player does not die then the statistic fails as it does not include the clone that survived. Therefore
CPg = WPg/D+1
Indicates a reliable measure of clone effectiveness in a particular game (minus those aspects which should yield WP but do not).
Once a player plays 2 games we the have An average Clone Power for that character.
CPavg = (WPg/D+1 )/number of games
This stat is usefull in itself as it indicates progression thru time, but is also subject to extreme highs and lows so I recommend that 3 numbers be reported in the following format
CPg / CPavg = CPratio
To recap
CPg indicates a players effective use of clones in a particular game
CPavg indicates a players effective use of clones over time
CPratio indicates the performance of a player in a game relative to their average.
CCP please consider the use of these indicators. I believe they provide much stronger information to players than the current stats.

I don't think this is needed since CP = WP/Deaths, and your corp could just have its own spreadsheet generated from in game pictures of PC results. |

Pictures? We could just use crayons on our screens....
Heres how your statistic fails - you don't die in a game yielding CP=WP/0, which is of course zero, it also fails to count the clone used gaining the WP.
Try again.

Um... not sure if troll or *******
Yes, mathematics state that a number divided by 0 is zero. However for practical application, if you had zero deaths then your one clone earned whatever WP they earned. I could probably come up with some formula that actually explains it for you, but if you can't plainly see the common sense mathematics of what I said, I'm sorry.
Yes, pictures of the game.. Like screen shots?
Instead of some complex crazy thing, how about merely a auto mail or a corporate/player history of previous battles you can look at. |

Retread my post pls, this time with a stats book open next to you. What I'm proposing is a simple average that the most basic of stats books will cover. Neither crazy nor complex, the Resulting statistics provide more information with less error than what we currently haveat end of game.
Also I said nothing about corp use. That would be an API issue. What I am proposing is for individual use.
For your information, I have been tracking my results and applying these formulae - which is how I know it works, and also how I know that others would appreciate better information.
Pls keep responses to a constructive, intelligent critique of the proposal.
What you are talking about would be complex, a backlog would need to be created and it would need to track every match and every score and convert WP. It also doesn't take into account any other useful information, such as: Was the person pub stomping, PC results, how much did gear affect clone power?
I use Blueprint/Milita gear in pubs and protogear in team, FW and special matches.
Now your formula should also take into account, Clones used vs WP/Kills/Isk Used/Average Skill/WP of enemies killed |

Lol you just added complexity to a simple formulae. All the data for what I propose already exists or could be extrapolated to locate a start point in fact it's already on the end of game screen.. Once the calculation is begun there's no need for anything additional.
What you propose is a separate matter altogether and you should start you own post detailing it. Please open that stats book before you speak again. |
