I was helping out a corp member respec yesterday, and I was jealous. Jealous of all the new excitement he about the game again. I got my respec with the first batch, and I did everything right, I am generally very happy with my setup. However if CCP sold respec tokens I would've purchased 1 just to try some other things out. And maybe yes I would've ended up buying 2 tokens probably to switch back to close to what I have now, but I would of had fun doing it. Most other MMO's offer some sort of repec option.
- CCP could Sell Respec Tokens for up to $20 (How many people paid effectively $18 each for the omega booster?) CCP would generate alot of cash which means more content for the game.
- Tokens should be limited to 1 a month per character. This will prevent people switching just to fight one battle, or to use the most OP gun in the game at the time. Putting in a delay of 48-72 hours from the day you buy the respec token would also be a good idea.
- When CCP releases new Heavy Suits, does CCP really think they can do that without offering a respec? Do they think very many people will spend 2 months grinding out enough SP to skill in them, when they already have a proto. They are going to have to offer some sort of respec solution.
CCP can't develop this game using only the Eve model, in Eve there are a million different things to do, in Dust you can only play 3 different games. With so much competition just around the corner, slow and steady is not going to win this race. You have a Playstation monopoly until November use that time to get people hooked and keep them entertained. |

This is a great idea! It would be great for people that have had a "midlife crisis" like me, it would also help out the poor blueberries that get lured into a FOTM and then get hit in the face by CCPs massive nerf hammer. |

Agreed. These last two respecs, allowing me to change things around and try things out at the proto level (only level that really matters) has made this game more exciting than any other time i've played it.
And now that I know its 2-3 months before I can spec into anything else deep enough to actually get a feel for that weapon... yeah i'm burned out and don't really want to play this game anymore.
I know it goes against the core of this game... but offering respecs while we continue to sit here and beta test their content and live with all of the missing racial variants... I think its necessary to help combat burn out. |

I greatly approve of this idea. As CCP balances their game, some things will become more or less effective. If you find that your specialty has been pummeled with the Nerf Hammer of Great Justice, you can move to a play style that is effective. I know that I would definitely buy them if they have a $20 price point. |

Respecs should be given with each new major expansion until we have a significant amount of content like all the racial suits/weapons. Paying for a respec now would be like paying for a Capcom game with "DLC" already stored on the disc. |

Speaking of tokening things just because they are fun, how about orbital strike tokens? You pay AUR, you get orbital strikes.
Or maybe equipment tokens, you pay a token and you can just trade out your equipment or resupply.
OR EVEN BETTER!!!
A Nano Injection token, if you get shot, you can use a token to just get back up, just like contining in a game.
OP you are a genius! |

Maybe if we had to pay real money for nano-revive-tokens then revives would actually work! |

OP PLS STAHP or at least learn to use the search function and post in one of the many respec threads that already exist before starting a new one.

To all Mercs in support of respecs please read and respond to in detail my posts #19 & #92. In this thread. As well as post #14 by Malkai Inos.
There's a lot of ground to cover and the issues presented within those posts (as well as other posts in that thread) really do require an address before any such idea should be considered for adoption into the game.
Cheers, Cross |
