I classify a revive as successful if the patient is able to make it to cover and recover their health so they can get back in the fight.
In Chromosome successful revives were fairly common. The medic would kill or drive off the guy that killed you and revive you. You would stagger to cover and crouch there waiting for your shields to regenerate.
Sometimes there would be a sniper the medic did not know about, or a red would show up just as you were being revived and you would be taken down again. Often there was a crossfire or you knew a sniper had a line on you, and you would just bleed out. Sometimes there were medics that did not know when not to revive, and you would get stood up just to get knocked down again, but most medics knew better.
Since Uprising I canGÇÖt remember the last time I have been successfully revived, and I have rarely seen anyone else get successfully revived either. Every time I do get revived I get mowed down again, often before I even have control of my character. If this has just been uniquely bad luck, then please let me know. If you have any ideas as to what is different in Uprising, I would like to hear them.
I thought of something that might help, and I would like to get some general feedback before I decide if it would be worth posting as a suggestion in the Feedback forum:
In the first Second after being injected, while nanites are still surging through your system, any damage to your body is repaired before it can become fatal. During the first second after the revive attempt, while the standing up animation is happening and you donGÇÖt have control of your character, the only thing that can kill you is traumatic damage to your brain (head shot), or the destruction of your body (explosion, forge gun, rail turret, anything that would kill you without giving you a chance to be revived). I think this is a good way of giving a partial invulnerability without sacrificing realism. I would even be ok with taking damage during that first second, but with a very high armour recovery rate, capped at the armour level the Nanite Injector revived you at.
Basically all I want is a better chance of still being alive when I regain control of my character and can make a dash for some cover. I want a fighting chance. |

Nebra Tene wrote:The problem is not being killed while being revived, but only that the nanite injectors are just broken as heck right now. You can be standing right on top of the other player and you will not be able to revive them, you have to be looking around in some invisible area nearby that will revive the player.
The fact that there's a useless killscreen rather than the previous screen that told you to either bleed out or call for help, wastes time and the new "call for help" button on the respawn screen is constantly overlooked.
There's also the fact that you cannot see downed teammates, so you can't tell if its an ally, an enemy, or an already bled out ally, so you may be wasting your time trying to revive someone you can't revive.
If they fix them to be usable again, then more people will start using them again, more skilled people which know what they're doing and how to successfully revive. You make a lot of sense. |
