PRO FGs can 2 hit DSes so its a big pain.

Armor up to STD were fair game, shield tanks above MLT require Forge Gun. Anything above that would require me to take two people with my setup to down. Tanks did not stop being OP 8 months ago. You can still solo a match in a tank. It's just LOLtanker talk. And on topic: Dropships were fun a year ago. Then idiots who fired at the nose cried for a nerf. Dropping squad to a objective or deploying snipers on high ground. Last night I played about 10-15 skirmish rounds and lost 3 ships. One to a railtank from really far away (nice shot btw) And two for getting hit by swarms and was unable to regain control to keep it flying. I think I recalled about 20 dships last night after doing the flying and going back to ground to keep hacking and shooting things. What do people want from dropships? My ship costs under 90k in isk...

None of the other vehicles have this element of "damage skews your control" that I've seen. I would think that would already be a balancing element, and the hp/slots/fitting could be higher? This vehicle is meant to pick up and ferry or "drop" your squads at objectives to further your teams goal; not get you endless safe kills from the sky or immense amounts of chuckles for griefing tanks. I think dropships were a bit over nerfed but as a person who was there for the whole "park a dropship on a tower and get endless OHK with a missle launcher" phase they went through during the closed beta I can understand it. When CCP balances them a bit better towards their intended job or even comes out with an actual gunship (assault dropships are a joke and poor substitute for gunships) then they will seem less broken. What is the moral of the story kids? (Which you all seem to keep missing over and over and over...) don't abuse something that is OP/broken. If you abuse or exploit these things CCP tends to pick up that trusty old nerf sledge and aim for the knee caps; just as they did with tanks, laser rifles, etc. Which will be the next victim of player exploit induced over-nerf? Exactly, if you nerf Forges and Rails, you're not only helping the survivability of the DS but also every other vehicle in the game, including the Tear Extracters (LLAVs), so buff dropships, give them over 4k eHP, make them faster (Or bring back the Nanofiber Chassis, that was mysteriously removed without reason), and goddammit give them some WP. I dont feel bad when I take out ISK DSes, they were going to lose it anyway, its the AUR ones that make me sad, knowing that CCP is making money off these broken DSes and I'm only making the victim purchase more.... it just kills me
