I hope someone is staying late at the office to fulfill your promise Eterne.
Because if there are not three new blogs released this week you are going to look like a fool.
It is sad, but I am actually anticipating an excuse instead of a blog. That is the state of my faith in CCP.
To any other company that would be an indictment of their work ethic, but oddly enough, just communicating more promises is actual progress for CCP.

Jin Robot wrote:So devs come in and communicate and get threats and doubts. Its a wonder they dont do that more.
Correction, once Eterne made the promises, many people thanked him for communicating.
Now that it looks like yet another in a long line of false promises, the knives come back out.
They should have learned by now to not make promises, but I guess you can't teach an old dev new tricks. |

Well, it is long past bedtime in Shanghai, and it is rolling past 3 p.m. in Iceland. Hence my comment on hoping someone is staying late. I have never envisioned CCP as a company that keeps strict schedules in their office, nor do they seem to have concrete deadlines.
Pessimism is called for, because CCP has shown that they consistently miss deadlines, or straight up pull a houdini with the promised material.
CCP has been the promised factory for a long time, and that needs to end. If they cannot come to grips with that, then they should not be surprised when people don't have faith in them.
CCP created this situation by over promising and under delivering. They have no one to blame but themselves.

A blog isn't supposed to be super professional looking. That's why it's a blog. You can be casual as hell with writing it, just get the facts out there and run it through a spelling check. That's all anyone cares about. Damn.
I think CCP views a dev blog as on the same level as an update.
They are of the mind that simply telling people what you are working on is the same thing as giving hem new content, or performing bug fixes.
It is an absolutely ridiculous premise, but that does seem to be the way that they run it. |
