Many will say no, the game is crap. But for development to continue we can;t just rely on Eve players to fund it. I have purchased the merc pack and the elite pack, and am satisfied with my purchase. Comes with some good exclusive blueprints, will save you a bunch of isk over time |

If you are going to buy boosters anyway... it can get easy to justify the various packs. |

If you like the game and believe you will put a good amount of time into it I would say the veteran or possibly the elite pack. The veteran pack gives a permanent assault suit, sniper rifle, and lav. All ot these things expecially the suit will make it much easier for you to save up ISK. The elite pack has a lot of goodies in it, but I would never pay $100 for this game at the moment. If you're game though, it will give you plenty of stuff for you to use in any role. |

Went for the elite myself.
Gave me a great start in terms of skill point accumulation. Not to mention a decent selection of suits and weapons to play about with.
Plus the vast amount of Aurum you get is nice for additional boosters. So far I think I've about six months worth of passive queued up and the active I tend to just use when I can play. |

BPOs require no skill points to use as well, so that's a plus, you can use some standard gear that you may not want to actually put your sp into |

What he said. Plus you can use that stack of Aurum to get some more BPO's to fit out the suits with. Meaning you do nothing but gain ISK no matter how often you die. Win, win really. |

one thing I have to gripe about for the elite pack though. If you are caldari assault, it is even more awesome as you get 50 of each assault suit, standard, advanced and proto. I really wish ccp had done a little better with that and allowed you to choose which races suits to have. I can't do anything with them at all, other than look at them in inventory -_-
other than that great purchase, even came with 50 sica tanks |

The biggest factor why I bought the Elite Pack was the Dren Logistics Suit BPO. As a Heavy, it would take a very long time for me to be able to spare enough skill points to fit a basic logistics suit. Being able to dawn one now, along with the other BPO suits and weapons gives me much more versatility for pub games. And it will save you ISK in the long run. I still focus most of my skill point spending on improving my main Heavy suit if/when I can get back into PC, but now I have spread points into nanocircuitry, uplink deployment, remote explosives and the like. Its fun to be able to head into battle, drop down 4x uplinks, a couple advanced nano-hives, then switch to Dren Heavy to run amock. Great for extra war points = more isk generated per battle = profit :)
I say go for it if you plan on playing for a while. |

I honestly dont understand the value of BPOs - apart from maybe the saga.
the ISK equivalents of the BPOs are so affordable and cheap to run there is no point in purchasing them IMO.
If you like the game and you think you are going to stick around the boosters are the only things worth buying in my mind. |

If you use suit BPO's and any weapon BPO's that apply to what you're skilling into. The amount of ISK you save while you build up your core suit and module skills is substantial. Somewhere in the 10's of millions difference. This is assuming you're fighting in matches while you earning your core skills. |

Take a look at the dren logi and dren sentinel. Then go take a look at the militia variants. |

i purchased a Merc pack back in Beta, and purchased a Elite pack since the Uprising. it cannot be understated how helpful the boosters can be for character development. i take the philosophy of only spending AUR on boosters, as i hate the idea of loosing 6-10 AUR purchased perishable weapons/equipment per match.
from this stand point i think the boosters provided in the Elite pack (2 * 30 Day Active & 2 * 30 day Passive) are quite a steal. these boosters will net you one hell of a lot of extra SP if you are playing fairly regularly, and as was stated b4, the BPO's help on the ISK side of things, so you tend to have more ISK to invest in the higher end stuff that you want to spec into. |

bearing in mind that to even get to the (basic) Sentinel, you would have to had got your Heavy to Proto level. |

Wasn't that changed so you only need level 3 in Heavy now? Same thing for the other Basic/Advanced suits/vehicles?
(granted it was a recent change, but it was one of the reasons they did they whole optional respec thing last month)

until the player trading comes, on the horizon now.....
But you're completely right, there shouldn't be race specific suits in any of said packs unless you can choose a race for any such pack. |

I had some extra money to throw at ccp and bought both the elite and vet. I could of bought another couple of games, but I like how dust will still be there with many updates and always expanding decades down the road.
I didn't really care for the vet pack since it was more about sniping. If you do sniping, then you probably aren't going to die very often, so having a standard bpo fit for it isn't really needed. The lav is cool though. I like the way it looks better than the elite pack lav.
The elite pack is cool with all of the stuff you get. That meta 3 shotty is pretty nice, but the best thing about this pack is the std bpo heavy suit and the lav. It is the only way to get a std bpo heavy. I use this alot and when coupled with some more bpo's, I have a very nice heavy fit with the only cost being av gren's. If just doing bpo fits, then I don't think the std heavy is needed, but it is nice to have the extra low slot, which I just stack bpo armour repairers on.
Although, as many have pointed out that the isk costs of such items aren't very high and I could run a std ar heavy fit without any bpo's, but it allows me to very quickly save isk for my expensive av fits, so I really don't care when I die in them, because you know I will die in an av fit. |

I agree, its very worth it- You get alot of aurum as well, you can use those to by more boosters or blueprints- it saves A LOT of isk. Thats important because when you go protogear youll have the money or, if you go 0 and 10 in an ambush- youll make a profit. |
