Hello all. I finally got my respec today and now I really need to sit down and think about this before I waste those points like last time. I have decided to go Assault. But maybe not full blown Assault. My friend has told me repeatedly to go for the Caldari Logi suit instead because the bonuses are better. But herein lies the problem. (BTW, these stats are for ADV. gear. Not quite at proto level yet guys...)
1. The assault Caldari starts with more Shields, Armor, speed, stamina, etc. (which I need) 2. The logi Caldari starts with more PG/CPU and more equipment slots. (which I only mostly need)
OK, so at first glance I thought I would rock the Cal Logi and apply a bunch of shield extenders to work with the bonus of 5% shield extender efficiency per level. But if the Assault starts at 210 and the Logi starts at 180 and I was running 3 extendended shield extenders that would only be an extra 20 or so shield with the bonus basically giving me still less Shields than the Assault character plus all my high slots used and empty equipment slots. So am I right in thinking to hell with the Cali Logi and to go with the assault/ Or would it be better to have more options later? Thanks.

Yes, but the bonuses don't seem to be enough to warrant running around with 3 empty equipment slots. Also, I thought damage modifiers went in the high slots, just like shields so how could I run them both? Also, this maths, is it right?
Cali Logi starts at 180 3 shield extenders = extra 99 shields + 15% (level 3 suit) = 114 shields
shields 294
Cali Assault starts with 210 3 shield extenders = extra 99 shields
shields 309 + the assault bonus
Correct?

That would be sweet to spec into dropships. Too bad I can't fly them to save my life! :) |

And that is sort of expected and part of my decision. I really just want to KILL people. I tried logi before and I wind up running after people trying to rep them and using a nanite injector that doesn't work while dropping uplinks that no one uses. I'd rather just be the best killer I can be, |

If you go for logi because it's a better assault suit than assault suits than be prepared for the likely changes later on or else i foresee a salty QQ thread in about 2-3 months.
Edit: beat me to it...
Well, I am not going for it solely because it is better than the assault suit. I just thought it would give me equipment options and a little variety. But then again shooting people never gets old... :) |

I'd rather just be the best killer I can be, If you want to run Assault then do it. Caldari Logistics is FoTM and will almost certainly be rebalanced to the point of great fountains of tears. If you chase FoTM you'll be eventually be disappointed. Just be the best Assault that you can. I carry uplinks on almost all of my suits and get a constant stream of +25 so I'm not sure what you're doing wrong. Even when I squad up the team can use them. Maybe you need to work on placement. In most matches I can place in the top 5 just from the uplink war points. Nanite injector is almost useless in the current build.
Very true. I do use uplinks quite a bit I was just exaggerating. But that injector is f******, for sure. |
