We basically just have 2 gamemodes anyway, its "kill all the reddots" and "keep those letters blue"....
Could we perhaps integrate Ambush OMS into Ambush, and Domination into Skirmish?
This might reduce the player spread and we'll get more players on average per game and we'll get more intense games.
I don't play much these days, I just wanna hit that cap...
I'm just tired of playing half of or the entire game with even less than 16 vs 16 players.
It should be easy enough to go back to 4 modes as soon as (if ever) player counts start to rise again.... |

Domination being its own separate mode is as ridiculous as 3 objective Skirmish being its seperate mode, same with 4 objective, and 5 objective Skirmish. The number of objectives should not make it its own mode. OMS is basically a slightly longer Ambush with junk falling from the sky, it doesn't merit to be its own mode. |

I played a lot of enemy territory back in the day. That had an objective mode in which one team had to do a bunch of stuff (blow up a wall take a point etc) and then move forward to another objective the other team would try to defend. There was a timer or only so many lives.
That kind of game mode would be cool.
Note: All Enemy territory servers were private so there were lots of custom maps...and i mean 100s of them. |

I don't really like normal ambush but OMS is okay - I used to hate jumping in an ambush game and finding out there were no supply depots but now I can safely go into an OMS and know that there will be.
As for skirmish/domination - these play very differently to the multiple objectives, especially since you can't spawn on the objective in domination. Knowing what you're going into can make a huge difference in whether you want to spend time doing it or not. Personally, I'd never want to go into a regular ambush or domination if I was soloing. |

Just do what we all do and play the "Keep the MCC occupied at all times" until you get trough those points.. |

My names for the game modes
Ambush- CoDland; zerg; the ****** ambush Ambush OMS- the good ambush; ambush with ammo resupplies; ambush w/o bad maps (not sure if it's still relevent this build); AV friendly ambush Skirmish- The real game mode; the point of the game Domination- Skirmish with ****** maps; zerg some more; first to get to the center with REs wins
In other words, ambush and domination are just terrible. |

I keep hearing talk about "low player population" but I don't see it in my own games (I play all game modes, tho plain ambush least often). My plate times are usually mornings during the week for US TZs at this point so I'd expect this to be a lower population time on average (maybe it's not) and I'm not encountering any trouble getting into full games.
No reason, IMO, to use development resources on reducing player choice and game diversity. A better focus would be bug fixes and increased content.

Even in the last hour before downtime there are enough on for full games, so I don't get what all the fuss is about here. |

It's too bad there isn't currently a way to avoid the massive lag etc. if all servers were combined because that would be the idea way to fix things assuming it didn't cause crippling performance issues. |

I think you guys are forgetting you can't spawn at the points in domination, this makes it play quite different from skirmish. |

I played the hell outa Enemy territory and made a couple of maps for our server back in the day, it was the objectives and classes and teamwork what made it such a cool game, used to play rambo medic adren needle charge in, murk a ton, run out while healing yourself lmao was on the 1st page of splatterladder for over a year, good times

Are you playing on the Euro server? If so try switching to the American, it's got more players kicking around. |
