Some people have an interest in knowing more about the lore, some prefer to focus on their shooting, and others like to make fun of roleplayers, forgetting that they play a videogame of immortal soldiers with high-tech suits that shoot overheating plasma at each other online.
If you-¦ve been following the news, or at least the major Caldari Prime event, you know that the Gallente vs Caldari friction was a major focus on the New Eden lore, and now with Heth new status of traitor, things will probably cool down on those actors.
Wich brings us to Amarr x Minmatar.
Read this excellent piece on the storyline that will be advanced soon.
New Eden is not only about blowing things up, if that is your wish.
A preview:
The youngest of the four major empires, the Minmatar Republic has only been independent from the Amarr Empire for a bit more than a century.
Free of the Amarr, they spent many years under heavy influence from the Gallente, who both helped them win their independence and establish their parliamentary republic government, but after their partial success in the Elder War they have undergone a great deal of upheaval.
The current leader of the Republic, Maleatu Shakor, backed by the Elder Fleet, took control after the collapse of the Midular government and abolished the unpopular Minmatar parliament, then began the process of building a new government based on tribal lines. After nearly five years of delays, that council got underway in February, following the much maligned QA module Tempest Tribal Issue live event and literally years of delays.
If, as we were told at FanFest, the next arc of the storyline is likely to focus on the Amarr and the Minmatar, then the results of the tribal council are likely to be the catalyst for whatever ends up happening with the Republic.
Unlike the Amarr houses, the leaders of the seven tribes are a bit undefined, and the tribes themselves tend to be less led than driven, so discussing the actual tribal chiefs is not as easy as the Amarr heirs.
Instead, what I'm going to do here is talk about the issues that are likely to be brought up during this reshuffling of the Minmatar deck and where you'll likely see the various tribes make their play. |

You know little bits of lore and the names of major NPCs have got me thinking Everyone has an exotic sounding name, is there no more room for John Jones in the future? |

I love how people make the Minmatar out to be such heroes and badasses.
They won their freedom at the cost of their true independence to another great empire during a time when their true masters were preoccupied in battle against a technologically superior race.
Keep posting this is always awesome to see. Lore should be pushed and appreciated in a world like New Eden where there is so much more than just war and ISK. |

Well they seem like unique names, but that's because we don't know the names of the trillions of civilians and other inhabitants of New Eden. |

what I want to know are the relations between the empire and the federation along with the republic and the state.

I prefer to call 4 "Factions" since everyone is a type of government.
Minmatar are survivors. It doesn-¦t matter what you try to do, we will prevail.

I love the lore as well, especially since most of it has become player driven! Can't wait for the tv show!
Oh and PS...the Minmatar are not survivors, they are just the luckiest duct tape wielding space jockeys in the universe. Which is pretty badass, I wish I could travel the galaxy with nothing but duct tape and crap from my local scrap yard... |

They successfully keep their ships running through the power of spit and prayer. |

Your BDSM roleplay is of no interest for me.
How is that Royal Heir that mistreated the Minmatar?

We interrupt DEVILJIN 49's constant spamming of a good game to return you to the discussion of lore from two other good games, already in progress.
As an English major with a liking towards well-crafted lore, this intrigues me to no end. :) |

Nice of you to put up a lore thread for the Matari, I knew this already but it doesn't hurt to put it up for the wider audience to read. Are you planning on doing similar ones to the other races too? |
