I have some questions regarding this to the DEVs.
Is DUST planned for PS4? It-¦s quite logical to do this because you can make the game better and will make more money with it.
If yes:
Will we be seperated from PS3 Players? It seems obvious that on PS4 DUST will be more complex (technically) than it is on PS3. I-¦m not just thinking of 100 vs. 100 battles but stuff like DE or actual interaction between DUST and EVE like fighting on an EVE ship in the orbit. This would break down a PS3. Will you move PS3 players to SiSi then or will you abandon them completely?
Will it still be free? Sony anounced that F2P games will not require PS+ by Sony itself but developers can implement it. If it is free, will PS+ members get special offers on DUST items or some special items?
This question now has nothing to do with DUST but: Will EVE ever be on a console?

CCP already said that they focus on the PS3 version. They don't have announced any S4 plans so far. Also: A PS4 version wouldn't make any sense at all at the moment: First of all: They could only make the graphics better. Everything else like player count and so on would have to stay the same for a PS4 Dust. Because obviously we would still play on the same server, meaning crossplatform play. Second: Dust 514 isn't even using the full capabilities of the PS3. The PS3 is able to do so much more, especially in terms of graphics. So why should they even start developing a PS4 version if they don't even have a final PS3 version?
I just wish people would stop asking for a PS4 version. Because as it is now there is no reason for a PS4 version at all. |

The PS3 is infinitely more powerful than a currently non-existent system. The installed base will also be larger on PS3 for sometime, as not everyone buys a console at launch, and the previous generation doesn't disappear when they do.
As for blindness, can you recall offhand how long it took the 360 or PS3 versions of games to outsell the PS2 version? Do you think it happened around launch date? It didn't. There's no rush on a PS4 release of Dust. |

I-¦m not talking about a PS4-DUST at the release but it is a fact that most player will buy a PS4 within 2014. It is more profitable to buy a PS4 than repairing a PS3 because the PS4 will so cheap and downwards copatible too. Thus about 75% of the PS3 users will have a PS4 at the beginning of 2015. |

As long as Dust 514 doesn't at least look like this: http://www.chip.de/ii/2/0/0/0/7/8/1/3/02-5449838869ca5155.png There is no need for a PS4-Version. |

The PS4 will not be downwards compatible, so I guess a lot of gamers will keep their PS3 around for a long time.

Bullshit. The PS4 isn't backwards compatible, so if people get rid of their PS3, they won't be able to play their games. That includes releases like Metal Gear Solid V, due for release NOT on PS4. Beyond Two Souls, etc. PS4 BC is supposedly going to be through Gaikai, and will definitely not make launch.
And it's not a fact that most people buy the new console within a year. You say "player" as if Dust players will all have PS4s and incinerate the console that actually has a library in favor of the one that doesn't (and won't have streaming for BC at launch either). Gaikai streaming has very little in the way of details as well, meaning with present values it would probably be cheaper to buy used copies than to pay a premium for a digital "copy". Streaming effectively means you're limiting your games to when you have a solid internet connection - it's effectively the "always-on" console for the possibility of streaming some limited library of games at unknown prices.
Why would you even NEED to repair a PS3? I still have my launch PS3, and it works fine. Early adopters get consoles in the first year, and that's not even close to 75%. There's an initial rush, and things calm down a lot after the launch. I can say this having worked at a game store for the PS3 launch among others. The PS3 (the console that's been out for several years) hasn't hit 75% of **PS2** sales yet. In 2008, two years after launch, the PS3 and PS2 were neck and neck in sales. If the PS4 eclipses the PS3 by that much in year, it'll be virtually unheard of.
The more likely scenario is that the it'll take more time and many more games for the majority of people to move consoles, that's how it's always worked. Some people want the next big thing NOW, and others are willing to wait for there to actually be games (besides crappy PC ports like Planetside 2) on them. |

More room to actually build a good game, you can build pretty much whatever you want and not have to worry about burning the console with its 256MB ram.
