I don't play. I just scroll through the forums waiting to see "OMG it's fixed!" and belittle anyone that cares about fixing anything other than core mechanics when i don't see that phrase.
With regards to the OP, i realized that dust is just an empty promise. I wqs told that it would be so much more than this, and because CCP can't even give us a general idea of when they can give us a general idea of what they want dust to be, i have no confidence in their ability to improve the game before i truly move on. |

And while we're on the subject, where is it that players banging on about Dust not being on the PS4 on day one think that 80m PS3 are going to go on launch day?
It's taken seven years to not only sell 80m units, its taken that long to build the things in the first place! Are you all so wrapped into your own bitterness of CCP's 'failure' to launch for not as yet available console, that your convincing yourselves that Sony has a warehouse with 80m PS4's ready to go on day one in case every single PS3 owner on the planet decides to upgrade on the first day?
The PS3 launched at the tail end of an economic boom. There was more people with disposable income to splurge out on an expansive console. There's a reason why Sony announced a PS4 price lower than its predesessor. There's a world wide recession. Frankly a new console is now a luxury item for many. Sony and the industry in general aren't expecting the same kind of early adoption figures that the last gen enjoyed.
So on the PS3 we have a cheaper console with lots of games that Sony are going to continue to make for a while to come. (They only stopped making the PS2 about 18 months ago), that developers are still going to support for at least 5 years because of that 80m installed user base. And CCP are producing a free FPS game on that format that will get better with time? And will launch on the PS4 at some time and likely other formats once the exclusively period ends.
You can say I'm clutching at straws if you want. Whatever it takes to fulfill your own pessimistic views. But if you've sat down and spoken to senior CCP members including Hilmar over the charity lunch as I did at Fanfest you'll know CCP are in this for the long run. Which is why I'll sticking around, running D-UNI for quite a while yet.
They really have managed to brainwash you haven't they? |

Well excuse me if i can't be bothered to try and explain reality to an ultimate fanboy. |

If it's so obvious that the PS3 will be unused overnight then don't be such a miser and spread the wealth of your vast wisdom on the forum. I don't want to be the last person trying to use the PS3!
You're not going to be the last person with the ps3. I realize thqt not everyone is going to upgrade right away.
What i take issue with is the idea that dust can compete with upcoming ps3 games. Destiny, gta v, watch dogs, hell, even garden warfare are going to keep dust from doing well. The game is not improving. it was more run back when REs ruled the battlefield and dropships were gods... This guy's problem is that CCP has succesfully fed him their BS. Don't tell me you fell for it too. |
