I used to put up with hours upon hours of socom4 bugs because at the core of the game it was sincerely fun to kill someone. This game lacks fun game modes, content, and anything more than a promise by CCP.
I followed this game from the first E3 spot in 2010, the promise of large scale warfare. Commanding troops across a battlefield similar to MAG Domination except 10x better. A game that you could customize anything, including something as simple as the scope on my gun or the color of my armor.
This shell of a game is what we have, it doesn't even feel like a game sometimes. Its a job because the only reason to log into play is to grind for SP so that those that clinged to hope that this game would one day be good would not be behind the curve.
It's not 1/2 the realistic combat game BF3 is.
It's not 1/2 the large scale combat game MAG was.
It's not 1/2 the competitiveness of what Socom was.
It can't even get the aiming mechanics right and that's just even the fun part. Aiming and hit detection is the core of the game that wolfenstein 3D even had down. What hope is there for a game that doesn't even have the core feature of an FPS, much less the features that are supposed to differentiate it from other FPS?
The PC system is so disconnected from anything resembling ownership or meaning that it lacks value other than wasting an extra 30 minutes to get into a battle.
I'm not sure what elements CCP decided to focus on instead of these things, I imagine them making a lava planet and MTACS in their shanghai office and forgetting that their core audience just wants to shoot assault rifles with fun sounds, game modes, shooting mechanics, and a sense of epicness.
Dust just never delivered on anything.

I will say, however, that I'll be watching this game very closely for updates and features. It's a great concept, but there are other games out there that are fun now, rather than later down the road. and this |
