Simply put, why am I facing a known japanese corp in one match and then another match has me facing the europeans when my server selection is set to North America? ie how come the lag favors everyone else but me?
Follow up question, is the player total number next to the X continue to player select screen accurate?
IF so is the reason why I am dealing with over-seas server lag because you just don't have the numbers to support the game?
On the flip side is this also the reason why I face the same players as enemies over and over again?
Since I am too lazy to care at this point and this will get moved/ closed/ deleted or flat out ignored.... what is the point of the LOCAL Chat channel other than to block the majority of the low class trash that hangs out there ... if you think the forums are bad my local has it beat. |

Then the equation they use to make it a fair fight ping-wise is FUBAR.
I choose not to play vs someone that is a whole second ahead of me, what are my options? Prime time for me is about the time the server starts to show that it needs a restart. |

I hate to say it but if you feel some people are a second ahead of you you may need to take a look at your connection, I am an EU player and if I stay on lateish and play with some of the American's and Canadians in our corp its surprisingly little different from when I am playing on EU servers. Sure I get the occasional game where there is weird shenanigans but its quite rare.
Um, did you seriously say it is my connection... thanks for asking the right question, but I am going to take a different approach to the problem and say it is a routing error and the fact that you haven't noticed it yet means you don't know what to look for. (When I load into the WARBARGE I see 1:49 on the clock and nobody else there, I am the first in 7 out of 10 times [on average] followed by a jump to 1:39 and then people start loading in.)
TO Clarify CCP this is not a RANT.
HAS the internet solved faster than light travel? It is quite easy for a player to be at least a second behind another.... it just depends on the route your connection has to take; Start on the east coast of the US, say you go to the west, to Modesto, California my ping is 80-90ms with a down of 13 and an up of 2; Going east-- To London & Paris it is again 80-90ms ping and 18 down and 2 up; To Italy the ping jumps to 100+ms 10down and 1.8 up; And then to Moscow the ping jumps to 150 4 down and 1.5 up; To Seoul South Korea it is a 250- 270ms ping and a download of 6 and upload of 1.96; To Tokyo, it is 200ms 18down and 2 up (funny how that works); Sydney Australia is 250ms ping with 16up and 2 down. Speedtest doesn't allow you to set the way you are getting there, so the only way to go west is to choose California for me, to get to the rest of the world they have me going the Eastern Way to all points.
Now add in a splash of the PSN wonkiness and the pings go higher, might as well add in the fact that the server for dust degrades over the course of the day... or do you think they are doing daily downtime maintenance for fun so that by the halfway mark time wise things are already starting to get wonky with bullets not hitting due to the server itself. |
