I'm curious about this as well, but for another reason. I want to run as Minmatar Heavy. However, without even knowing the stats and slot layouts I'm feeling quite trepidatious about where to spend my SP. |

Django Quik wrote:There will always be more content that hasn't been released yet and we won't be getting a new respec everytime some new thing comes out (field commander suits, proto HAVs, jets, MTACs); there'd have to be a respec every build for that and it's just not going to happen.
Let me make this very clear for those who cannot seem to grasp this concept.
Having all Racial variants of all existing classes of Dropsuits and Vehicles across all Tiers (Basic Advanced and Proto) at the time of full release is basic content. Adding this missing Basic Content would warrant a respec as it should have been included in the full release.
Things such as New Dropsuit Classes (Commando, Pilot) new classes of vehicles (MTACS, JETS, Destroyer HAVs, Bomber Dropships) etc. are Expansions. These would of course not warrant a respec, however these should be added only as complete packages with all Racial Variants. |

If one is Specced into the AR skill line, then one may use any variant of AR. There would not be a separate skill line for the Caldari AR, Minmatar AR, Amarr AR, and Gallente AR. Therefore when these variants are added all one would need to do is go purchase them from the market. However, if a new skill line were added for each variant, I would think a respec for the AR skill line to be in order.
However, where dropsuits and vehicles are concerned, each Racial variant has it's own skill line. So if I spec into Amarr Heavy or Gallente HAV simply because it happens to be the only choice I have, then imho when the other Racial variants are added along with the corresponding skill lines, i should be able to have those SP spent in the Amarr line refunded so that I may choose which Racial variant I prefer.
I hope that clears things up on where I stand on the matter. |

Maken Tosch wrote:There is also the fact that CCP will continue to add more things that will require their own separate skills that may not be racially linked at all like:
1. Cloaking modules 2. Siege mode modules for tanks 3. Mining Equipment 4. Surface infrastructure management 5. Wholesale buying and selling (market trading) 6. Production 7. Skills for improving ISK earnings like you see in Eve for mission runners
etc.,
Again, these skills wouldn't require racial skills at all but will likely still require their own separate skills that you never invested in before.
These would also be considered Expansions not deserving of a respec, unlike Missing Racial Variants of dropsuits and vehicles. |

True Adamance wrote:This really wasn't a debate about respecs and stuff just a generic question about me making my skill choices now not knowing how things will turn out.
I mean I'm pretty patient but I would like to know even roughly how long I'm going to have to wait to even be able to use the SP I have now. There is only so much 1.5 million Invested SP can allow me to do on the battlefield. I apologize. It was never my intention to derail your thread. I am simply frustrated because of CCPs complete lack of communication concerning this entire subject.
At the very least I feel they should be willing to release the Stats, slot layouts, and racial and role bonuses for these dropsuits and vehicles. This way players eagerly awaiting this content can plan and spend SP in preparation for when it is all added to the game. |

Any stats they post are subject to change before actually coming in. Even then, those stats will continue to be changed in the foreseeable future like Eve ships have suffered. Nevertheless it would give some indication as to what we should focus on when allocating SP.
As of now all we have is a shot in the dark. I would like to know for instance if for the suit I have my eyes on (Minmatar Heavy) would it be better to shield tank or armor tank? Would it be wise to invest in Biotics modules? Would it give bonuses to HMG? These are only three questions among many which could be answered by releasing the information. |
