There are plenty of veteran players still around. I and most of my group of friends as well as huge chunk of my corp have been here since MPT (That's pre-E3 Build last year, by the way!). The difference is all the people you recognize spent more time on the forums complaining about stuff.
Now they've gone not necessarily because the game is bad, but because they're chasing whatever new FPS is coming out.
Just because you chunk of the forum warriors have gone does not mean anything about the veterancy of the players actually PLAYING. |

To be completely realistic: no one is really done with a game if there's something good to bring them back to it, right?
Bethesda delayed and delayed and delayed PS3 DLC for over a year. Once it came out, everyone was playing Skyrim again.
People don't stop playing DUST and delete their character (most, anyway). They just start playing other games and let their SP accrue if/until they come back.
CCP just needs to hit a home run one of these patches and many of your old vets will be signing on again to see what it's all about. I honestly believe that if we ever hit a point where game sites are saying "DUST is dead," it'd only be a matter of time before you start seeing "omg DUST is Lazarus, play it now" articles.
I'm not a fan of the process, but CCP is an iterative company. They know how to learn from their mistakes unlike many, many other companies. I hate how slow and buggy the process is, but I'm confident they'll get it right in the long term. |

I'm assuming you've never played Planetside 2 in that case? It's a generic overly monetized FPS with nothing going for it. Dust, even in it's broken state, has much more depth and replay value than a game that puts graphics before everything else. |

I'd love to play, but considering its been two months from the release of uprising and we've yet to get fixes to basic **** like freezing and stalling at the loading screen, having to hard restart, log back in, reconnect my mic and start dust,why bother this game is becoming a job and less an escape

A more solid proof: concurrent users on Dust. Since official release (14. of May) number of concurrent users have declined from about average 6k to about 4k today. A reduction of about 44%. But a thing to consider is video games in general see less playing during the summer. |

You all miss me?! why I'm touched. not in a sexual way, but I'm touched. Just beat The LAST OF US last night. AMAZING BLOODY GAME!! Anyway, it has a socom game mode in multilayer, with a interesting story to it. I've been alive for 3 weeks now. (in game) and have 50 survivors.

Here's a really good reason you won't see vets on the forums a lot of times:
we complain. a lot. Most of it is justified/ sorry, nearly all of it is justified but the language and tone is not. To protect our corps/alliances from our opinions we create alts with 500K SP just to post on the forums. |
