I'm a sniper. Lots of people hate me, but I don't care. My squad mates know that I'm super useful, NOT selfish at all and do what I do for the betterment of my team.
SO, lets give the snipers who DESERVE it some love, yeah?
Everyone tell a story of either you as a sniper or a sniper you know that is either funny, amazing, or just bad ass. I'll begin with funny.
I was lining up my headshot on a sniper yesterday, and when I pulled the trigger... BOOM. Only one quarter of his health is cleared. Now as any sniper knows, that means only one thing- I've hit a heavy. I put two more shots into him and he's down by three quarters of his EHP, when he ducks behind a pillar. I think, "Oh noes! Hees hidden and beeyond mai reech!" But what does Mr. Heavy McSniperpants do?
He jumps from his perch, landing some 100 meters below, killing himself and giving me a kill assist. LOL Dummy.
I hunt enemy snipers to make sure my assault team can handle their assault unimpeded, and I use a fit with a low scan profile so I'm hard to find. Sniping with a heavy suit is like standing in a nanohive bubble, jumping up and down with a bright flashy "HERE I AM!" sign, whilst firing off flares to mark your position. Fail. HUGE scan profile. But... jumping from your high haven of relative safety having no health with which to cushion your fall? Most unwise.
If you're gonna snipe, do it properly, or be doomed to failure. Lol

itsmellslikefish wrote:Ive told this before but il tell it again, I was trying to snip an enemy uplink which was somwhat diifficult because of its angle and at a distance it dosn't render, I missed 3 shots, my fourth shot I charged my sniper and took aim and shot, just when I released the trigger someone had spawned there and I got a +50, not gonna lie I felt a bit dirty, but it was an accident ha, got the uplink in my next shot.
I've tried to do this about a million times with no luck. Lol |

-Irish Protip: Profile dampeners don't affect the chevron displaying when people have you targetted. It is only useful in CQC for staying hidden on the TACNET minimap. Tested extensively through chromosome and confirmed by Wolfman. On topic though, I quite enjoy sniping people out of dropships and LAVs
Perhaps this has changed in Uprising?
As a sniper looking for other snipers, scanning the horizon while not zoomed in usually reveals my targets, as long as I have a clear line of sight on them. The distance between where my rifle is pointing and where the target actually is seems a lot larger for HAV's, heavies and medium suits than scouts with their smaller profiles. I know a few other dedicated snipers that use profile dampeners, and I literally have to be zoomed in with my reticle on their Dropsuit to see their chevron.
