Will the weather and planet type have any effect on our suits and weapons?
For example if it is snowing or raining, will that increase the time it takes for weapons to overheat (say from idk...20 seconds on the LR to 35). Whenever SOON(TM) lava and storm worlds roll out, if on a lava world will your weapon overheat quicker? On a storm world, will the EM from constant lightning cause shields to have a longer regen time?
I think that if this was the case, DUST would become very exciting and offer something that I have never seen done in an FPS before - it would really add a new element to the game. |

Could be interesting, similar to eve where unkown systems (wormholes) get bonuses to certain things
In dust's case on a particularly sunny planet Minmitar suits could get a 20% shield power levels increase via there solar panels :) |

That's actually a really great idea, Aisha Ctarl. I'd suggest tossing it up on the Feedback / Suggestions forum. Things like that, slightly different gravity, and weather effects messing with our visibility / other factors (such as an ion storm blitzing sensors) would make for a very fun game indeed. |

Yeah I'll post it to the feedback section.
It's just something that in the back of my mind seems would add a whole new element to DUST. Having to be cognizant of the weather and changing conditions would truly in my mind would add a wow factor to the game. |

I think in the Dust section of the FanFest keynote, they were talking about a Null Gravity map ... not sure if it was just an artist rendering, or what (don't remember). |

i put up a thread with same or similar idea during the closed beta i mentioned planet types having certain effects to dropsuits and the ability to add mods to compensate at the expense of tank
example
storm planet = no radar due to atmospheric interferance counter active scaner uplinking info to tacnet maybe reduced shield regen / recharge
ice planet = reduced heat build up on weapons low visabillity due to snow lav useless due to having wheels
