That's rather the whole point of the Skill system in DUST / EVE online. You aren't SUPPOSED to be able to get into everything, for any amount of time. There will always be new skills to spec into, and paths you can't yet walk. The concept is to encourage specialization, because only through a clear focus can you get the skills of one area to perfection. Also, this focus on specialization naturally encourages group play due to not everyone being able to easily switch out to do any role. (although obviously some roles are more universal then others aka AR, some roles will be more specialized but often vital to the situations which they pertain to.)
In shot: It should take a long time, and with new skills being added in that interim it should ultimately take forever. |

ccp has to understand that we aren't pc gamers. pc doesn't get replaced by anything. consoles do get replaced by superior models, they don't seem to understand that console games aren't good for extended games over 7 or so years. |

But you're not supposed to be able to do everything and use any gear. That kinda defeats the point of having the skill tree to begin with. Just like in EVE, you can never do everything. As soon as you think you've got everything you need, CCP will add more skills and gear to the mix.
It wouldn't be much of a team based shooter if everyone was a one-man army, would it? Focus on a single role and master it, once you've took it as far as you can, select another and do the same. But never try and be a master of everything. You'll never ever get there. |
