Honestly, I was really looking forward to Planetside 2 for months. I practically danced when I got the email about the Tech Test.
It's been a real disappointment watching something I was so excited for go so far downhill.
Many people were saying the same things about CCP and EVE Online back in 2011, thinking they were going to do to EVE what SOE did to Star Wars Galaxies. When all the misunderstandings were cleared up, and the dust settled, we ended up with a new plan from CCP on how to move forward that has led to EVE now holding the title of the only MMO that has grown in player count every year since it was released.
Do Dust and Planetside 2 share some of the same issues? Yes.
However, mistakes having been made or not, CCP wants to improve, and that is the fundamental difference between them and Sony Online Entertainment. Where I have now lost all faith in SOE, I still have faith in CCP. |

There just isn't any reason to fight in Planetside 2. You don't get money, you don't get territory, and the pitiful amounts of XP you get will just have you grinding for weeks if you want to actually earn enough Cert Points for a weapon that doesn't suck. |
