I hope this helps a lot people in planning out there is Skill Mastery choices
Active SP: has a Weekly Cap of 190,400k that restarts every Wednesday after server downtime but does Not carry over week to week. so if you didn't earn your full weeks cap worth your behind. Then every game after you hit your SP Cap you can earn 1 SP per 1 WP, up to 1,000 SP if your War Points are 1,000.
4 weeks (x4): =761,600 Yearly (x52): =9,900,800 million
with Booster you get 95,200k more for a total of 285,600k per Weekly SP cap.
4 weeks (x4) = 1,142,400 Yearly (x52) = 14,851,200 million
Passive SP per Day is 21,600k or 900 per hour.
Weekly (x7): = 151,200 30days (x30): = 648,000 Yearly (x365): = 7,884,000
Any Day you desire formula is 21,600 x day # = goal days desired
with booster gives you 32,400k per day or 1,350k per hour.
Weekly (x7): = 226,800 30days (x30): = 972,000 Yearly (x365): = 11,826,000 million ________________________________________
SP Totals are Active plus Passive:
Weekly = 374,000 Yearly = 17,784,800 million
with Boosters:
Weekly = 512,400 Yearly = 26,677,200 million |

Uncalled for, don't ya think?
Great work Shrapnels. There isn't a guides section per se, but you could repost it to the Training Grounds for new players.
Also, is it just me, or does the number '190,400' just irritate you? why not a flat 200k :l
As for nitpickery, you don't need the k when you write out the full number, or else the weekly cap is 190,400,000, and it is 1000 WP or more, not just 1000. Had to include some negativity or else I'd be bashed for being a shameless nice person c: |

Good general guid, Shrapnels.
One small point of correction to the SP gains, though: the default passive skill gain is 1,000 per hour, not 900. (To test this, ff you time how long it takes to passively gain 10 SP without a booster it takes 36 seconds; or 3.6 seconds per SP. 60 seconds per minute/3.6 = 16.667 per minute. 16.667*60 minutes per hour = 1,000.)
This maps neatly onto CCP's active gain cap of 1,000 per battle (without boosters).
Passive SP gains per 30 days are:
Default = 720,000 Normal 1.5 booster: 1,080,000 Omega 2.0 booster: 1,440,000
Thus, a normal booster gives an additional 360,000 SP per month, and Omega gives an extra 720,000.

I didn't even realize Omega boosters actually were a thing, I thought it was a joke or something and never paid attention

As much as I appreciate you doing the math, I feel like I just lost a piece of myself.
Just a piece, genetically, I could replace that. |

The max SP you can gain in a year, given the weekly SP cap and the passive SP gain, without boosters and assuming that you gain no skill points after you've hit the weekly cap, is...
18,660,800 SP. (18,684,800 for a leap year)
If you want it, I can give you the math. Lol

And this is the reason newberries will never catch up, because I seriously doubt any of them are capping out. I've been with DUST since the closed beta and I've only ever capped out ONCE. Sucks that I have a life with responsibilities that keep me from playing this game enough to cap out every week. Now I am significantly down in SP from my dust-buddies (see what I did there? :P) even though I pull in the same WP and arguable are just as skilled or better than them. (For the record this is mostly Pub matches I'm talking about and I almost always make the top 3 whether we win or lose (which sucks cause sometimes I come in first place with like 450ish WP XD) and if I'm not in the top 3 then I'm in the top 6, granted bad days aside or total ***whoopings aside XP). |

I don't know what qualifies a person as a newberry, but I suspect that I'm one. I started 5/14 and quickly realized I wanted to play further, so I got some of the combo packs that included boosters and I got some Omega SP boosters in addition. I've capped every week and I have a spreadsheet planning my skill gains out into August.
While it's true that not all people who started at launch will catch up to everyone who played in Beta, over time that will even out. You, for example, have played longer than I have but can't play as much. So eventually I'll pass you, despite me being a newberry. Right now, a head-start of a few months is a big difference. In a year or two, it won't matter much at all.

Granted SP isn't that big a deal once you can get advanced gear with a proto module or two, heck I got demolished in a game by CHICAGOCUBS4EVER and he was using standard gear (modules unknown). This is still an FPS, but some of the RPG/spreadsheet elements can lead people to forget that good aim is still better than marginally better gear. |

can a Dev confirm that 24k SP a day or 1k SP per hour is the correct amount. The 900 sp per hour was a figure I got off a dev post a bunch of months ago. |

At a certain point the gap between a beta player and an official launch player will cease to matter - probably when the latter reaches around 10-15mil SP.
Boosters go a long way, as does playing after cap. I started playing on 5/13 and I consistently finish at the top the board (granted, I am a Logi). Sitting at 9.4 mil SP right now. |
