So I've been doing a lot of these posts apparently, and I'm not even sure if any of them are getting read, but alas I like to post. Today I'm going to talk about PC.
Apparently, according to most people I have talked to PC is, well, bad. I've stated previously that I have no actual experience in it so if you want to stop reading I don't blame you.
First, adding a secondary marketplace for Dust equipment which is player driven. This marketplace, however would be a blind auction. Meaning you don't see what the actual price of the item is, you only see what the last say 50 sold for. You put in how much you wish to buy it for, if there's some available for that price or lower you just purchased it for YOUR price. If not a buy order is created. I know I said this is about PC but it will make sense in a minute. This encourages economic PVP. Trust me.
My proposal which would bring more interaction from EvE into the Dust universe is the addition of a separate new facility design to 'mine' minerals from the planet. Along with this add in 4 additional elements to the game that can only be found through mining with this new structure. These four elements would be the basis of production of Dust equipment. The production would not take place in Dust but rather in EvE. Once the minerals are mined they are either sold on the EvE Market place, or given to an alliance to manufacture groundpounder equipment. These elements have no effect in EvE. But the items produced then can be sold to give EvE a taste of the Dust marketplace. Now I know what you're thinking while the EvE market place largely takes place in the millions and Dust takes place in the tens of thousands there isn't much reason to. However if you think about the grand scope of things. For instance, Lets say there is 10,000 unique visitors to Dust (On average I see 6000 on at a time so lets say another 4000 log on through out the day.) They play an average of 3 skirmish matches, they die an average of 5 times per match, wearing an average suit around 20,000 isk. Thats 3,000,000,000 isk (10,000 unique visitors times 300,000 (20,000 times 15(3 matches times 5 deaths)) and that is in my opinion a pretty conservative number. Now if you allowed EvE players to manufacture lets say 50 items for dropsuits, weapons and such and 5 for tanks, LAV and dropships per run thats a nice amount of isk. This would drive a reason to have your own territory in Dust, as a way to power your war-marchine.
Comments, suggestions, criticisms welcome.
TL;DR: Add a secondary player driven market; and add in a new structure that mines minerals for eve based production of dust based equipment. |
